I'm not too sure of the cars final fate but understand it will go into a private collection, it's due to be exported to a collector in a month or two.
The coatings and treatments used this time round will far outlive whatever was applied from the factory but for sure neglect and salt water will soon reverse much of the shine...
Will be interesting to see what's left in another 15 years- not much I would guess sourcing the parts even for this rebuild hasn't been straightforward!
Thanks

Speaking as somebody doing a full car restoration and rebuild but in a very different way and for different reasons I was just wondering what your end game is?
Are you going to use it? Show it? Or keep it locked away?
All worthy causes and you have done a great job but I can't help but think all the parts you are replacing will corrode back just like the old parts in a few years if you use the car much. Obviously if it's a show car or display car that's not such an issue.
Don't get me wrong its a work of art and maximum respect for paying Subaru many hundreds in over priced parts but I wouldn't want to drive it in the rain!

Very nice, I'm well jelly
I'm currently freshening up my Type R. If you don't mind I'd like to ask you a few questions regarding the sourcing of parts sometime soon

Usually I hate it when cars are left as something to look at rather then something to drive and enjoy, but in this case I actually think I would rather that it was kept as a pristine example due to all the genuine parts replaced at obviously great amounts of time and money!

Sorry for the delay those that requested exterior shots but here you go...After 18 months the P1 is off for final polish and wheel alignment!
Handbrake not bedded yet hence the blocks, didn't want a Ferris Beuller incident at the bottom of the garden!
