La La land - a yawn
Lion - Not my cup of tea
Fences- again not my cup of tea
Moana- Brilliant if you have kids they will love it
Hidden Numbers - Great story and brought to the screen by Clint Eastwood . Brilliant
Hell or High water - Unmissable
Abandoned- True survival story of a crew on an up turned catamaran . Worth a watch
I Daniel Blake - A heart wrenching movie .Sad very sad.
Arrival- It didn't do it for me
Passengers-It could have been so much better
Manchester by the sea - Depressingly awful

It's ok for something to watch but nothing more than that.

I thought it was good - clever concept - it's not a bad film at all and quite uplifting.

A third vote for Hacksaw Ridge, a very enjoyable film. Even my wife liked it and she usually hates war films.

I liked Girl with all the gifts. I'm not a horror fan but this was an original take on the zombie genre.

Don't breathe was also good

Yes, a very thought provoking film hence my reviewed scoring for it has extended to 9/10.

People who slag off state benefit supported (or trying to be) single, pram pushing young mothers and older disabled folk with hidden disabilities should watch it. They may learn something.

Haven't been able to watch 'Lion' but will do, one day.

Still feeling quite ecstatic that I eventually bothered to watch the 'Life of Pi'. I would have regretted as a floating spirit had I not watched it in my life time.

Been watching the 'Stories from Rabindranath Tagore' on Netflix on occasions, and the new Broadchurch on TV. Tagore stories are fantastic! Not for the ones that aren't interested in other cultures and foreign poetic literature. It's not foreign to me, so I enjoy watching it. New Broadchurch is very good. Hayley from Corrie is doing a damn good job in it.

Back to films, searching for something half-good to watch on Netflix. Will post a review, once found and seen.

SPR is seminal. A watershed.

It's the 'The Matrix' of the war genre.

Recently:-

Alien Covenant - I'll forgive anything Alien related because Alien. Helps to resolve some issues from Prometheus and at the same time leave you asking a bunch more. "Kenny Powers in Space"

The Great Wall - Mat Damon and the guy from Narcos help the Chinese fight off scaled dog thingies. Woeful.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 - if you liked the first, you'll like the 2nd. I enjoyed it and genuinely funny in places. Good fun.

Logan - much closer to how grown ups would want a Marvel film. Actually found the use of the F word was over-done. Without dropping a spoiler - Should have had Liev Schreiber reprise his role - would have been truly epic. First Class

See in the trailer 'Fox on the run' on the soundtrack. That's good enough for me

It would be so helpful if you peeps could say where film was e.g. Netflix, Amazon, Sky Cinema, You Tube.

Also a description in just a few words e.g US Court Room Drama, Clint with Magnum etc etc

RUSTOM (Netflix IIRC) Indian military corruption and court room. Very stylish film
