Unless you're spending £2k-plus for a pukka SLR body, problems they all have is delayed response to pressing the tit (can sometimes be reduced by pre-focusing with light pressure on the shutter release first) and you can't see the TFT display in bright light. In all other major respects (except price) digital now has conventional film cameras beaten.
And that's not an easy admission from someone who has made a living from film photography for the last 25 years.
Just bought a Nikon Coolpix 2500 to play with. Astonishing capability, but very different from using a film camera. Just as much fun, but different.
