Very saddened to hear this. Only met him twice but my impressions of him were he was a good bloke who was very enthusiastic about our passion. He was helpful and had time for you. It would seem with what I've read on here and other sites my judgement of him was very much correct. A terrible loss to his family and friends first and foremost but also to the subaru community and motor sport in general. May he rest in peace.
Very sad news, I never did more than exchange a few pm's with Simon, but the sole reason I contacted him in the first place was due to the clear respect other members had for him and his work which was evident from the moment I joined scoobynet. Best wishes to his family and friends at this difficult time.
John do you think you could post the link up to Simons page when available for those of us with appalling social media skills! :-)
Would be great to raise a decent sum for his chosen charity on behalf of Scoobynet in his honour.
This is the most awful news.
After poor service and response from the (well known) mapper I used to use, Simon was like a breath of fresh air. He mapped my car after a turbo change and a check-up after an induction mod and he was considerate and always wiling to answer any question I threw at him.
My sincere condolences to his family, friends and anyone else affected by this truly tragic news.

I had skin cancer a couple of years back and it was cut out just in time.
I spoke with Simon about this.
Some of mine are changing again!

R.I.P Simon. An amazing guy. He will be missed. He travelled two hours out of his way to check my car when it had issues a couple of weeks after he mapped it. Didn't even charge a penny. Top bloke. Was hoping my p1 would get mapped by him two weeks ago until he announced his illness.
He mapped my FSTI and was such a humble genius.
I was with the Surrey Scooby Boys, Northdowns, Don, and Banstead Stig.
Such an unbelieveable event such a sad loss.
Bad day for Scooby Lovers lost a top bloke.
ATVB.

totally gutted to hear this news a friend told me and my first reaction was , nah you've got the wrong person
but sadly not
in the short but eventful time I've been on here Simon was one of the very few that never used his status to put down me or others even when I came up with pig headed opinions or ideas he just persisted in hammering home the do's , don'ts , or right ,wrong way to do things
we crossed swords on many occasion but simon always remained the proffesional ,
he will be missed by many and I cant believe I feel so gutted about someone i never met ,
this is something very close to my heart and family so it really hits home the devastating effect of this illness
my deepest heartfelt sympathy to all simons family and friends
he will be sadly missed

I was absolutely gutted when I heard the news on Monday, still can't believe it now. Simon never worked on my car but was always happy to reply to messages and had many a laugh at SRR. The Subaru community has lost a wealth of knowledge but more importantly a father has been taken from his young family way too soon.
Rest in peace Simon.
Rest in peace Simon.
I too never met Simon but his expertise still puts a smile on my face every day. R.I.P. Simon and my very best thoughts and sympathy go to your family and friends, many of whom are evidently on here.
I never met Simon but he was an active and friendly poster on the once busy motorbike section of Scoobynet years ago with lots of good banter which is where I first spoke to him as a fellow Fireblade owner. I then sent him an email asking his valued opinion on something and as everyone else says his knowledge and unselfish willingness to help others stood out a mile through the exchange of emails and had a good chat over bikes and cars to boot.
Hearing this news truely saddened me tonight and my thoughts are with his Wife and children at this terribly difficult time.
R.I.P. Simon, a Subaru and biker font of knowledge and Scoobynet legend in my book

Unbelievable news. I only had my car mapped by him a month ago shortly before he said he was ill. I was shocked to hear he was ill as he appeared to be well when I met him. To say I'm shocked to hear this is an understatement. I thought people were just getting the wrong end of the stick after hearing he was ill. Damn that happened quick.
My thoughts are with his family. RIP Simon.

Hi, I know who supplied Simon with his original Performance Enhanced Web urls and they have the permission to still supply them if people would like them as a way of raising funds for the families chosen charity.
I have just learnt this shocking news!!
I only met Simon once back in 09' when I needed an independent mapper to drag some info off a map for a blown engine... He was very professional and was even willing to come to court if requested.... Nothing was too much trouble for him ever!
Respect and thoughts go to his family at this sad time...
