veerinder9,
Based on my experience, to only achieve those terminals for the peak power and weight you're running, suggest you made a major boo boo on the run. I'm not sure I see that in your video.

Peak figures don't mean squat in isolation, and that doesn't guarantee results of any kind.

This stuff isn't straight forward.... best of luck improving your times though bud.

If that relates to the last run on your timing printout, I would suggest you haven't go the grunt you may have thought you had. The 60ft is reasonable but your 330, 1/8th ET's, along with your 1/8th trap are pretty low for 500bhp on a Classic imo.

If you look at Dan RA (timing slip on a previous page) who is running a Classic with 420bhp, he is achieving 95mph at the 1/8th.

I would think that has something to do with the launch and 1-2 gear change.

With the bog down between and running a very top end set up the time would have been lost waiting for the turbo to come back on song.

I know for a fact when I bog 1-2 my time drops over a second. I think if you gave it some more stick in the launch and stopped changing like a granny you would see serious improvements

Also carrying extra weight is not helping you

Ah ok, gearbox is uk 6 speed 3.54 ratio. Spec is 2.1 stroker running custom GTX3076R rotated. Was mapped with a leaking manifold hence why theres a slight lag on the graph but on road with new headers spools nice but hasnt been tweeked. Maybe pulling back cz of that? Ecu is alcatek mapped by MartynJ

Get it tweaked with new headers before anything else!! And looking at the graph your power drops off around 6750 rpm, i wouldnt waste time reving passed that, change up and go again in the next gear. Do you have launch control? Set that to 4750 rpm if so with 1 bar of boost limit

Ok will do got syvecs to go on now lol. So it's best to chnage at around 7k? O usually change at 7.5k im guessing that's wrong?
And no launch control setup

JGV,
Yes... Agreed any bogging from 1st to 2nd will certainly hamper ET, but his 60ft suggests it isn't really an issue IMO.

A not so great launch doesn't normally affect terminal speeds too much, which is a clear indicator of power. Nobbling the run with a missed gear will though. I didn't pick up any such foul up in his runs.

Of course shift points especially with such an apparent narrow band will hamper progress. Maybe something for him to look at.

As dan suggests, don't Rev past peak power.... Certainly not to the extent that you are. Only worth hanging on to the extra revs if it saves you a gear change approaching the finish line (if that's practical).

Id be changing to syvecs as soon as you can if the headers have been changed, and gett it mapped with launch aswell if your looking to improve times.

Shifting at around 6750-7000 should see you right as you will be straight back into the power band of the next gear so should pull hard again after changing.

The actual run was good in person, as i said i was stood on the stand when you ran the last 3 times. Only thing i picked up on was lack of launch control, revving high without doesnt achieve much, the point is to get the car strait into forward on boost motion, as soon as your off the line you want to be changing so the car is accelerating hard into the next gear not tailing off the powerband in 1st.

Theres plenty left in the car, just master the technique by trying a few things like lower rev shifts, launch control, tyre pressures etc

I ran 11.91 at elvington in a full fat turbo 2000, 2.1 , 18g, 400bhp. Launched at about 4500rpm because the clutch was not up to more. Gearbox broke after about 5 runs. I now have a 6 speed which i think is a hell of a lot shorter, may be would be in 5th over the line where as the 5 speed was in 4th? Yet to try it but I have a bit more power now so no comparison

Vee,

Just watched the videos and in my opinion your shifts are what are slowing you down. Launch seemed fine, revs sometimes sounded a bit too high, but the gear changes are what seemed slow to me. Plus you had a passenger which doesn't help

Lol i knw i had extra weight only for two runs tho. Really gear changes seemed slowed? I thought they were pretty quick lol. I did do a little test earlier today by shifting aroumd 7k and tbh as said above it does seem a lot better. It's straight in the powerband n keeps moving

Told you! When you change, what RPM is it starting again at in the next gear?

When i change at 6250 it works out at 4200 in the next gear.....

Look again at your graph, your peak torque is at 5k rpm..... And bhp drops off at around 6800 so changing at 7k is ideal if it drops you into the next gear at 5k... Try that next time, you will be mid power crossing the line in 5th id imagine.... Should see an 11.x if you get the launch right

Ok will try that next. It comes on slightly earlier than the graph shows aince the new headers. I had william motorsports tubular headers which had a crack in the collector joint and jsut about held through the mapping session and produced the above while it was cracked. And after that i put gt specs on which made a difference in spool by ateast 400ish rpm. But hasnt been tweeked since ive put them on lol

Get the map tweaked asap IMO before you start looking at dragging again and driving it hard. Once its tweaked, look at the graph again and see where the drop in bhp is and where the torque peak is. on mine it drops perfectly if i change at 6250ish as in the next gear im at about 4000....
