As much as I appreciate examining the dyno graph to know where to shift, I think a big part of it comes down feeling when the car needs to change gear. That will come with practice though, as will the shifting times etc.
I think forgetting everything else, quicker shifts will see you in the high 11s easy. Nailing the timing of the shifts, maybe even as low as 11.5 with that power.

Get the map tweaked asap IMO before you start looking at dragging again and driving it hard. Once its tweaked, look at the graph again and see where the drop in bhp is and where the torque peak is. on mine it drops perfectly if i change at 6250ish as in the next gear im at about 4000....

You want that graph to hold til redline. Changing gear wastes time and more gear changes are bad for times.

not exactly true, its better to change into peak power than rev through to red line just to avoid a gear change. the only time id not shift early is if you were within a short distance off the finish line and you could rev through.

Less gear changes are always faster. It's all and bout your power band. It's all very well having 500hp but a 450hp car with an extra 2k rpm to use it in will be faster.....
I don't need to change gear until 8k and I'm in 5th about 1/8mile

Every car needs a different approach. I suppose the only universal advice is change gear as quick as your hand can manage and launch at an rpm that won't bog down or light up the tyres.

It's certainly important to hold a 5 speed Newage to the redline, if I dropped to 4200rpm I'd barely be making boost. And changing at 6,250 in mine would probably see me well below my initial spool up rpm of 3800.

My peak boost is at 4200 but the car holds power pretty well to the limiter so I just hold it in gear, which seems absolutely forever in 3rd!
I suppose gearbox ratios and Turbo performance are a factor in drag race technique. My old TDO4 was terrible at the higher revs in 3rd.

Depends on my plans. I'm thinking of changing setup as lookong at my setup powerband is very narrow. Wna widen it upabit so if that happens the i won't be there if not them il pop down and see if i can get better times on Current setup. If not il give it to you so u can show me how its done
