I am sure He will rationalise it thus

We definitely get an in out referendum on the EU and we don't have to put up with the increasingly quasi socialist policies UKIP needed for the disaffected Labour vote

Easy to spin as a win/win

I do genuinely feel a little sorry for Warren though. He was nursing a semi over the last six months thinking UKIP would end up with 50 MPs and in the end they lost one of the two they had and their leader once again has failed to gain a seat.

So now they are a leaderless party with one MP.

Did you really think, as you stated in the poll, that you would get 50-100 MPs???

Chuckle all you want, but two facts remain:

1) UKIP got 4 million votes which is more than a third of the votes the Tories did yet got they only 0.003 the number of seats the Tories did. Fair? Not by a bloody long shot!

2) Given that the warmongering **** that is Cameron is now riding roughshod over workers' rights to strike, doctors' rights to have a weekend off, has been bombing Syria despite parliament voting against it, has declared a new war on terror having learnt nothing from the last 25 years and yesterday embarked on blaming all UK Muslims for all the problems with extremism without stopping for one minute to accept that our intervention in Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya is a massive part of the problem could UKIP really have done a worse job? Highly unlikely! You will likely claim otherwise, but that is because you are an establishment apologists and, on the face of it, utterly brainwashed!

yes perfectly, you vote for your local MP not for the nation. Had they had enough support in each local area they would have won more seats.

I keep hearing ukip support bleat on about how they should have more seats, but that isn't how we elect our MP's.

I am 100% in favour of PR.

In my experience people don't vote for their local MP they vote for who they want to govern the country.

As much as I dislike UKIP, they should be properly represented as that's the will of the people.

My amusement was mainly at Warren (the great political expert) telling us that UKIP were going to wins dozens of seats. This was clearly (well clear to anyone who actually understands how the system works) never going to happen.

Not quite, you think what I write is funny because it doesn't touch you and hence you have no interest in considering what are facts and how they affect other people. You're a typical 'I'm alright Jack' despite your sickeningly sycophantic statements to the contrary every now and then. At least people like Warren stand up and be counted whereas you and that other cretin who revived this thread just carp from the sidelines. You're a pair of ****s!

No, just the same old hate filled bile. I do wonder just how bad somebody's life must be that they seek relief by swearing at people they have never met on the internet. Even if you have a difference of opinion, you've got to be seriously unbalanced to behave like that.

I do think that Germany's treatment of Greece has really thrown the whole Euro project into stark relief

It has shaken the progressive liberals - the total lack of democracy,

It is if the spectre of German economic jackboots has shaken the faith

The "democratic deficit" was always the week point, and this hasn't helped
