View Poll Results: How many UKIP seats after the 2015 GE?
Voters: 44. You may not vote on this poll
6 months to the GE - how many seats will UKIP win?
A fiver!
I'm sure the odds were more before, I doubt I could purchase a couple of wagon wheels if I was in the market
I'm just saying long term prospects have taken a nosedive

And I say you're wrong. Pick a vote above (kind of the whole point) and we'll see in 6 months time who has the correct analysis of this...
It's very strange reading when you view online media aimed at a Left or Right target audience, the country is definitely split on immigration or the many undertones related to it. There's not many comments to articles that show people sitting on the fence.
IMHO in ten years time, people will look back on now and say we had our chance, what were we thinking....
Whether people accept it or not mass-immigration and or extremism growth is a huge worry for many people and the failure to act now may lead to a party like BNP, LibertyGB or most likely Britain First getting in power and that would be disastrous.
But the "big prize" was not on offer
You can only play the ball that is presented to you
And no one can deny the UKIP are hitting a cord with voters

Sorry, I haven't yet read your link, but it is about that UKIP MEP defecting, then I think Farage is going to have more pints than you tonight, to drown his sorrows.
About the allegations, is the UKIP defaming him because they've seen their @rse, or is there something substantial in it, I wonder?
It says at one point:
In a statement on its website, UKIP also said one of the reasons Mr Bashir had been suspended was his "continued affiliation" with Mujeeb Bhutto, who was involved in a Pakistani kidnapping gang.
Mr Bashir told the BBC: "I would say these are old historical allegations that the party already knows about. Nigel Farage spoke on TV to defend me against these false allegations.
"These are just dirty tricks to try and discredit me."

I’m not bothered about that bigots recruitment thingy.
This in noticeable, though:

Meanwhile, footage from 2010 of Richardson attacking the health service at events in the USA were released by Labour. Speaking at the Young Americans Foundation conference in Washington he said: "When I was younger a trillion was an astronomic number. Now when I look at our national deficits, and your national deficits, actually it is an economic number.
"A number I couldn't possible imagine when I was younger is now the amount of money that is owed by my country, and soon more than that by your country, to other countries, paying for wasteful socialist programmes. And of course at the heart of this, the Reichstag bunker of socialism is the National Health Service."
At the Conservative Political Action Conference in the same year he said: "This socialist government wastes money like you can't imagine. They have started doing every wasteful scheme under the sun ... The biggest waste of money of course in the United Kingdom is the NHS, the National Health Service."
The release of the footage signals a more aggressive approach to Ukip from Labour, which faces losing ground to Farage's party in some of its northern heartlands - as shown in the Heywood and Middleton by-election in October where Ed Miliband's party could only manage a narrow victory.
Richardson was reportedly appointed last year to help prevent "bad stuff" about the party making it into the media, but Ukip insisted he was not involved with the press operation.
Labour's Jon Trickett, shadow minister without portfolio, said: "Either Nigel Farage supports this or Mr Richardson cannot stay in post. Nigel Farage cannot simultaneously defend these comments and claim that his party stands for the NHS free at the point of use. The man chosen by Nigel Farage to control Ukip's image has compared the NHS to Hitler's **** bunker. This is Ukip's real agenda on the NHS.
"Today Labour is shining a light on Nigel Farage and his party's true views on the future of the NHS. They claim to defend the service we cherish, but they want to dismantle its foundations. Ukip can no longer attempt to fool people. They are a party of Tory people, Tory money and they want to extend the worst Tory policies, which would have horrific effects on working people."
A Ukip spokeswoman played down the significance of Richardson's comments, pointing out he was not an elected representative or party spokesman. She said: "He is a very talented barrister and does his job extremely well. He is not involved with the party's press operation."

Richardson was a Tory at the time, and said it as part of a Tory meeting. Not relevant, and UKIP have clearly stated that they will not be privatising the NHS. The whole idea is dreamed up by Labour, UKIP have DISCUSSED the idea of going to insurance based system like France and NL, but are sticking with the current structure.
As for the MEP, UKIP are better off without him, there have been complaints for months about him

So now he has been reincarnated?

His views are quite clear, they aren't going to suddenly change because he joined UKIP. Farage clearly stated that he also backed an insurance based scheme for healthcare, until he did a flip flop

Personally I think all avenues should be explored with regards to the NHS, I have no ideological opposition to any way of funding it.
However it does seem that when it comes to any area other than Europe UKIP seems to struggle to put forward a coherent opinion/policy.
Hasn't the head of policy been sacked because he didn't hand his homework in on time?
Trouble is the NHS in its current guise is such an easy target for people like Richardson.
It's in a p1ss poor state and is a massive gravy train for many who work in it hence why they don't really want change unless it means more money for them.
The notion of what it was created to be has got completely lost by the previous and current governments.
Sadly I think it in inevitable that within the next 25 years the service will move to a model more like Australia. It was once the jewel in the crown of the UK, now it's more like a ball and chain we have to drag around.

Surprised no one has mentioned this

Basically Ban benefit claimants from driving
I do love this quote though
Labour’s shadow health minister Jamie Reed said Ukip was “not so much a political party but a stag night out of control”.

To be fair the NHS is very good care wise, but reminds me of a duck looking all serene on the surface of the water, but paddling furiously underneath. Without the doctors and nurses actually giving a crap I reckon it would be in tatters by now!
Still, if I had to choose between being ill in Australia or here I'd choose Australia every time and yes I have a good knowledge of the health system out there. The other countries I cannot comment on as I have no real idea of how their systems work.
