This thread makes me happy ;-)
V6 ltd here, 36k on clock and paid £6.4k.
Would take a silly offer or special car for me to ever sell. Nice to know I won't lose money on it.

OP - There's a nice p1 on eBay for 8.5k at the mo

Only gonna get worse chaps, and by worse I mean harder to get one for decent money. As already mentioned, decent cars are fetching loads in Japan. I'm certain they will go up steeply in the next few years when people selling them here realise that.

I'm really after a type r, I did get in contact about that p1 and the seller didn't impress me, didn't really know much about his own car, didn't know the build no, etc, said he learned something new when I told him it could be found on front suspension turret.

I've seen this for sale a few times on eBay, with different wheels, black ones, it looks nice but a bit put off by the amount of times it has been for sale, would have to put a lot of money into it to get it where I wanted it, want something ideally that already has brake and suspension upgrades!!

Can I ask why you'd want suspension upgrades? If you will use it on the track then the original suspension will be good for that. People complain about the Type R's suspension on the road but I use mine as a daily.

Its a nice car that Sham has, very honest car and drives like a dream but with it having no alarm insurance companies would not touch it so had to pass on it.

Would have cost me a fair bit to get it to where id have wanted it but i was prepared to do it.

something doesn't look right with that car, the front bumper isn't to my taste and the wheels look sunken in, if that makes sense, it looks like it has a big body kit on it even though it doesn't. didn't the type R come with 2 blue front seats or was that just one particular year

I suppose your right, just comparing to previous classics I've owned but these are obviously a different kettle of fish, I suppose I wouldn't know until I test drove one properly.I also don't want to be in the position either where I decide to go down the modding route and end up spending a fortune again, brake upgrades are are definate must!

I would probably have bought it had it not been for this as it drives like new and is as tight as a drum.

Especially on a car that is notorious for trying to kill it's occupants on a daily basis.

Word of caution for you and your new purchase, DON'T LIFT OFF THE GAS.

Some of the questions I had on my type r was shocking , you would think they were looking at a showroom/ brand new car seem to forget that they are 14 years old.

To those looking at Type R's now if your willing to be a little open minded don't forget about STi RA's.. there's a nice V6 WRX STi RA on ebay at the minute for under 6k, whilst arguably not as pretty as the two door shell these have pretty much all the toys that the Type R's do, and can be had a few grand cheaper.

In the case of the one on ebay given the mileage, colour, history, being a V6 and very close to original, I expect a comparable R would be 8-8.5k at the moment and rising. IMO good RA's will be next in line for a price hike and now is a great time to get in one!

(ps. I'm not the seller for aforementioned car lol, but I do want it.. along with that chase yellow R! )

I understand this but if u r paying top dollar for a car u expect it to be near perfect, dont mind small dings etc if they r taken into account on the price but with the inflated prices at the moment some sellers are just expecting top dollar for sub standard cars.

What counts as small dings or bit of paint in the past is very subjective. The one I bought has turned out to be very good she'll wise, no rust or accident damage.
