This is the issue that ukip will have to increasingly deal with. Godfrey left because he felt the party had now become too politically correct!

Like all parties ukip will migrate further towards the centre to widen it's appeal, as it has for example on gay marriage.

Just been out canvassing in Rochester today. Got just as good reaction on the doorsteps there as Clacton, I would say we are going to win it. Thing is, if Cameron loses Rochester, there are strong rumours that Cameron will face a leadership challenge. What will happen then?! I don't think you'll see a leadership challenge so close to a general election, it would be political suicide. Besides, Cameron's personal approval ratings are actually quite good, better than the Tories as a party and FAR better than Milliband.
