Getting there.........

Fitted right hand side intercooler pipe and it was hitting on bonnet which I wasn't happy about, so chopped a bit off

So then that was sorted, wasn't happy with the red catch can pipes so I bought black hoses to look more discreet.

So off they came and fitted black, yes I need to change the blue header tank hoses too, on with it.

It's getting nearer, just to see what it looks like, filter not plumbed in properly yet.

It's the only position my filter will fit without catching bonnet from closing, need to make room around area where bcs and map sensor is.
Only exhaust to fit/make center pipe, fit wideband in downpipe and plug into syvecs.
Wire avcs to syvecs
Change the horrid blue header tank pipes to black (which just come after I'd set off to tims, typical)
And just little tidy up bits then sort base map and see if the bugger starts .

Oh and fitted a lateral inlet pipe as wasn't happy with the joiner from the hard pipe, seemed too stretched IMO as it offsets a bit, (will effect my flow).

Looks so messy with all pipes etc plumbed in, wish I could of left them all out lol.

Sneaky pic of my turbine wheel hmmmm......

Just slightly concerned that the clutch may have to come back out, which will be an inconvenience if a fault with clutch and double time wasted labour on same job!

Not updated this for a bit, but whey the car is running and starts no leaks or anything, which is good .
But....a big but, the clutch had to come out, which its out now and being returned /replaced.
Also had the car waxed and polished before Xmas as I thought I'd have it by then but this clutch had put it off which kind of pi55ed me off tbh.
Suppose good things come to those who wait.
Fingers crossed the replacement clutch goes smoothly then I can bring car home from being away for so long

Well, we got to the bottom of clutch problems after scratching our heads.....
Sent clutch off back to Alan as we blamed the clutch, Alan was also concerned to what was at fault, so after testing against 3 different clutches, the clutch was fine and Alan couldn't find a problem with it, all checked out perfect.
So as Alan is Alan, he investigated it for me and asked if correct fork was used, I said yes, it was 'supplied' with box.
So he said, seen as its out, take some pics of it along with my old fork from my old 5 speed to compare.
Upon checking, this is when my heart dropped, both forks looked identical apart from 1 was longer than other slightly, but exact same design.
He came back with what I thought after seeing both side by side and said, sorry that's a 5 speed fork, that's your problem.
So, had to buy a new 6 speed fork and you can see the difference, and you can see where I will get the few MM that I was short of.
So Alan's going to send clutch back so we can refit the bloody thing with correct fork
We did keep forks together with each box not to mix them up, but I don't know the differences between them, only now I know how to tell them apart after researching them.
You can see the fork below, the longer one is what came with 6 speed and smaller one is my old 5 speed one.

And the correct 6 speed one that cost me £82!!!.

Well, hopefully we can put it back together next week and get back to where we left off (finish base map)

My mate tagged me on FB selling pages to some morrettes going quite cheap, I wasn't really after some but couldn't refuse a bargain
So, need to paint the shell and fit

Well been hitting a few brick walls lately .

First off the car was running sweet with no problems, then established that the gearbox had a slight whine/grumble which after investigating looks like it's pointing to the input shaft bearing(s). The box was rebuilt with new syncros and a check over but looks like they missed the bearings.
Luckily enough the seller who I bought it off have given me some money towards getting it sorted, so hats off to him.
Although it's drives ok etc apart from noise (sounds like a dog box lol) it still needs sorting so I'm going to just change all bearings and give it a full inspection our selfs and then we know it's deffo a good box.

Then onto trying to sort the avcs to work we stumbled on a problem, the avcs were not firing up for some reason.
Loom triple checked as needs to be spliced into car loom for syvecs. That checked out OK after trying other methods, still no joy.
Then onto checking solenoids, bench testing for pressure if they work, all checked out ok, so now we are at a loss.
So we thought we'd come back to that later.

Onto trying to finish base map, fuelling, timing etc, found lambda sensor not reading owt, seems to be stuck.
So order new lambda ntk especially for syvecs, still not responding!
So confirmed with martyn Jeffrey and he suggested that ecu needs sending for testing/repair etc as fault seems to be pointing to ecu now after trying all avenues, so looks like I have to send it back (was a new replacement afaik from syvecs after sending my old one for converting to a 3 pin) so will have to sort that Monday.

Seems odd as both lambda and avcs ports are at back of ecu both next to each other?
I hope it is something ecu related now as no other things can be of a problem now.
Will wait n see what happens there.

On the other hand, we've fitted the aero catches in bonnet.

So now it's just a waiting game before we can carry on and sort these minor issues which I hope is ecu related then upon replacement or fixing the avcs will fire up and lambda will read and we can get it sorted and can bring car home for me to run clutch in and make sure engines ok after a few hundred miles before full map.
Also get car booked in for box repair in meantime .

Painted the morrettes in primer ready for paint but havnt found a decent day with weather ok to finish to then test on car to see which I prefer.

And a picture of my editing skills

Will update outcome later.

Well update:
Car is finally done (thanks to Tim for helping me and giving me guidance when I'm stuck, oh and putting up with me )
Mapped to 1.8 bar on vpower, taking a wild guess around 420-450hp but without dyno print just a wild guess.
Havnt got avcs working yet as we found a sensor plug had somehow stripped it's wires so got new set to fit this weekend and try that.
Getting my AP's fitted this weekend too.
Need to get box stripped to see and fix input shaft bearings as its noisy, but havnt yet booked it in for that, but will do ASAP.
Also need to do meth map aswell and up the boost a bit and she how she likes it.
But all in all, I'm pleased with it, no other issues so all good there.
Goes pretty well as it is.
A quick video of me getting used to it, and couple of pics.

(Click on link, don't know how to upload vid on here)

Cheers.

Tbh the xl seat is not for me as I fit perfectly fine, it's the passengers that I'm actually thinking of for once so I can cater for the plumpier ones
