KG TUNING - demo car.
So come on then matt, the gauntlet has been put down, totb 16, put up or shut up?
Are you going to be there to show everyone how quick a wrx is?
I get the impression that it isn't going to happen....

Very much doubt Matt will go and race, in fact this is probably when he'll disappear of SN for a few months...
Gaz's car goes quite well, for an STI.

A robin reliant is the greatest car on earth with handling mods and big stoppers. It'll beat a 918 around the Nurburgring.
Carfolio and Parkers list the 316bhp WR1 at 4.1/4.2 for it's 0-60 time. I wonder what it'd register being 200kg lighter, 18bhp more powerful and with ratios more suited for 0-60?
The Evo IV RS was a whopping 0.6 seconds faster without too drastic changes from the Evo IV GSR. Same power levels and just a 102kg lighter.
Food for thought.

WRX beats STIO every time, and I mean every time.
Engineering Explained 1 week ago
+Marek Sumguy Car and Driver has them both at 4.8 seconds in their testing. In my testing the WRX was about 5 seconds, STI 5.5. So in that sense, they were not the same. STI has an extra gearshift taking away time, but I prefer the more aggressive gearing of thee STI.

LMFAO - "Should have bought an STI" should be changed to "Should have bought the heavier, slower & less efficient car."

Matt you're so full of sh*t I actually feel embarrassed for you fella.
Either rock up at TOTB ready to prove everyone wrong or hush you gums about your one off world beating 55mpg WRX with his magical rear anti roll bar.
I'd even be prepared to chip in and help pay the entrance fee!

I'll go whip a few MX5's and RX8's to remind myself that handling isn't the be all and end all on UK roads. Then top it off by beating the car of the year, the 380bhp Porsche GT4, at the lights. The German car driver can console himself in the fact he manages a sporty 27mpg and could have overtaken me on a corner if the roads in Wakefield weren't so eroded.
The bottom half of totb last year...you'll be fine Matt!

Just read some of this thread and would hope its mostly tongue in cheek.
Couple of questions tho whay have you added the following is you are keen to keep the car a WRX?
STI boot spoiler
STI bonnet scoop
STI scoop undertray
STI strut brace
STI side skirts
Also what weight figure were you using to get the 260 BHP per tonne at the wheels, I calculate the car would need to be 1280kg ish,
Why are you running such low boost, a 16G will take more boost than 1.35 bar or are you concerned that the 5 speed will not take the torque on launch ?

I think Matt might well be able to do it (get into the 11s that is) but he's just being very weird with the way he's going about it.
Stop comparing to the STi, tell us all your mods (for interest not slating) get your car weighed at "racing" weight and at the next available opportunity go set some times. Video proof with the slips too. Or invest in a Vbox or similar.
Otherwise stop with the 0-60 in 2.9 and 11s 1/4 quotes when you haven't done better than 12.6.
Personally I want to see you get into the 11s. Why? Because I enjoy it when people exceed expectations, but just not when they're gloating about goals they've yet to get near achieving!
