Complementary contrasting colours. Diametrically opposite each other on the 6-colour (R,O,Y,G,B,V) wheel.

You are so far behind the times both of you, I was rocking Porsche Racing Orange wheels a while back, I'm so hip and ahead of my time that I frighten myself with my genius and style.

Today has been a good day for 'goodies' arriving for the car, I picked up a new Torques 340lph fuel pump, the fascia adaptor plus radio wiring / steering wheel control loom arrived along with my Prodrive GT2 wheels.

So tomorrow I aim to get the following jobs out of the way:

Fit Torques fuel pump
Fit CDF Racing rear anti roll bar and uprated braces
Fit Pioneer head unit
Fit door window deflectors
Remove CDF Racing logo from the offside of the car
Remove Subaru and Impreza badges from the rear of the car

There is a lot more than that that needs to be done but it will be done over a period rather than all at one time.

Plus I have an STi battery brace currently on it's way from Japan as well.

You must be having some assistance ty as that list would take me a good two days!

Sounds good though, hope all goes to
plan :-)

The use of a ramp certainly will speed things up no end Rob, without a doubt.

The head unit install should be a breeze, the fuel pump I am not so sure about but I am hoping it's no worse than a classic or newage, the anti roll bar is a breeze (relatively) when you don't have to do it on your back.

The sticker and badge removal someone else will be doing so I don't take off the paint at the same time.

Plus I have one of these on the way as well.

I like your taste and style, Ty

The official STI engine bay bling parts for the hatch are quite fantastic, and also retro-fit newages

I've pinched inspiration from quite a few other Hatchback STi owners, you're correct there are plenty of goodies out there genuine and aftermarket.

I'd love to buy it all but I have to limit myself.

So today all did not quite go to plan, but nonetheless some jobs have been left and other jobs took their place.

First off was to clean the engine bay which quite frankly was in a filthy condition, the wax coating that they spray on at the factory was absolutely caked in crud. We had to use a very heavy duty TFR to strip the dirty wax away from the engine and bay, this involved soaking the whole area in chemicals and leaving it for a while to do it's work.

After a steam clean the engine bay did start to come up very nicely indeed although it does still need some minor attention at least all the crud is now off, the inlet manifold was a very dull red has now come up as it should a deep vibrant red.

The inlet trunking from the air filter to the inlet pipe to the turbo was mis-aligned and pulling the hose away from the air filter box, this was down to the hose clamp at the inlet pipe end being overtightened and kicked out of line.

This was then corrected and allowed the air filter hose to seat properly. A quick examination of the air filter and although it's serviceable until the next service I will change it out for a K&N panel filter in the next couple of weeks.

I then fitted the Pioneer AVH-3600DAB head unit, I did order a fascia fitment kit plus wiring loom adaptor kit which allows the steering wheel controls to be retained, this all went smoothly and without issue until it came time to route the hands free microphone and the USB lead.

Unlike newage and classic models which I had installed head units in before there is no easy access for the routing of the these leads, you have to either have two people or fingers like ET and joints which are hinged in three axes, but it got done in the end and I am very happy with the results.

Next up was the removal of the CDF Racing sticker on the driver's side and the Subaru and Impreza badges from the rear tailgate. The sticker was easily removed with some gentle heat and patience, the residue was cleaned off with some thinners which just swept away any remnants.

The rear tailgate badges proved a little more awkward to remove due to the sticky remnants left on the panel when the badges were removed, but some thinners and elbow grease soon got rid of them. The area was then polished with some very fine cutting compound on a micro fibre to remove the 'holograms' of the badges in the paintwork and then washed off, dried and some Dodo Juice Tropical Protection Detailing spray used to give it a nice smooth feel to the touch and to protect the freshly bared paint.

Before

After

Last but by no means least was the fitment of the genuine Subaru door window deflectors, these proved to be a relative doddle to fit as the instructions are pretty thorough and them are pretty fool proof to fit.

I like the look that the give the car, they certainly do their job and you can open the front windows a fair bit before any excessive noise or wind is felt in the cabin. I would certainly recommend them to anyone considering them, they are very well made, easy to fit and quite robust.

Also today Ryan carried out an examination of the paintwork, I knew that the rear bumper needed repainting but I was unsure on the front bumper. The front bumper only needs a couple of light scratches touched in, so that was good news.

The car does need a good detailing which will be carried out when I drop the car off for the rest of the modifications to be carried out, a plan is in place for some colour changes inside and outside the car as well.

The rear lights will look better when there done when's that mod going on cus it makes so much diffrance. Good day though mate can't wait to see it in the flesh

The sound is actually quite good from the standard speakers it makes me think that they may have been upgraded previously.

Don't get me wrong they aren't a patch on an Audi Bose Concert system that I had in an A3 years ago, but a lot better than I was expecting as usually the factory speakers sound like stones rattling inside a tin can.

I did think about doing the rear lights today but we just didn't have enough time left over, so when I drop the car off they will be done then.
