This for me is the problem, if the rules were more flexible then it opens up the possibility of more innovation and that doesn't necessarily take vast sums of money. All it takes is someone thinking out of the box and the rules allowing them to run with it. Take Brawn and the double diffuser as an example, a team that in 1 season went from mid field to winning both the drivers and constructors championship.

Bernie has said in the past week (http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/29737238) that he doesn't want to lose any more teams from F1, and yet he's quoted today (http://www.wheels24.co.za/News/Berni...-grid-20141101) as saying there may well be just 14 cars on the grid next season.
On the one hand he is surely in a position to adjust the share-out of F1's finances, and on the other he appears to be saying tough luck and the weakest go to the wall.
Whatever your opinion of him one can't help but admire the way he has turned F1 into a global brand, but can he not see the damage that will be caused by the possible shrinkage of the sport?
Of course he may have alternative strategies in mind. Reduce the appeal of F1, kill off the brand value, and buy the whole circus back again. But surely the shareholders will want to maintain their interest and wouldn't stand for any shennanigins like that.
Am I the only one who thinks he's lost it?

Was actually a pretty decent race I though with lots of class overtakes, Hamiltons overtake on Rosberg was out of this world though, probably the best overtake in the history of F1!

His in-race mentality has really matured in 2014. He seems calm and focused over the radio these days (unlike in previous seasons perhaps, when the pressure was on).

Lewis is one of the greatest drivers I have ever seen in nearly 40 years of watching F1 and I have been criticised in the past for saying so with some even suggesting Button is better Rosberg is a very very good racing driver and Lewis has now beaten him twice in three races by overtaking him on the track in the same car.... that tells you all you need to know!
However one DNF in the remaining two races could cost him the championship such is the daft points system we have (and I don't just mean the double points thing) so let's not start getting ahead of ourselves. Yes, it would be a travesty for him to lose the championship now, but remember 2007 when he was 12 points (equivalent to 30 in today's 'money') ahead with 2 races to go and the team and car let him down!
Let's hope the right man wins in the end
PS I watched the 2006 GP2 season and knew he would be an F1 great. Watch this review of Turkey GP2 2006 to see what I mean:

When Rosberg was teammates with Schumacher i used to think it was down to his car that he was never able to perform in the race to the same level as qualifying, now I'm not so sure.
Great vid as well. I did watch some of his 2006 GP2 season but must have missed this race.
