its connected to the dual clutch auto so semi automatic, It does for me but I aint thrashing it, I,ll updfate once I try at full tilt
But rebellion have a TCU update that fixes lazy downshifts should there be on, I think I,ll have the latest updates thus may not see it
No I don't think so I can check, but why would you ? it only closes it when your stood still or u forget about it
As for figures lets be honest no vendor does, probably don't with half a tank going downhill with wind behind them, I reakon I,ll get 30 to 35 on MW at 70 75 ish

As for stop start etc it's probably just a case of getting used to it but find it unsettling when I use cars that have such things. I don't know, I just like to feel that im the boss and that it does what I say when I say it, just need to get with the times.

Appreciate brabus keeps your merc warranty by put 3700 for 40bhp is just too much.
The,old price of 1900'was about as far as I'd go...

The rebellion website says the tcu remap will add over 25 bhp. How can a gearbox remap add BHP??? This makes me suspicious of them....

Could 360ish bhp perhaps be enough for a little(ish) hatchback?!
I wil never understand why people buy a very quick car then immediately go out and trash the warranty/overstrain the drivetrain for a few pub bragging rights.
SO many remaps and tunes stuff up the car's drivability with spiky torque curves, irregular power increases and general silliness.

Agreed, personally I would not let anybody map my c63 even though plenty of people seem to have had it done without any problems. I don't want to be forking out for an AMG engine spank you very much.
I was however considering the gear box remap......

I asked the dealer I purchased the car from to check that all the updates were sorted. He said he had, but who knows?
Are the TUC remaps from people like Rebellion just the same as main dealer updates then?

Yes and no, the dealers will be inline with whatever AMG release, so for me it's normally turbo ecu updates or TCU ie gearbox.
Rebellions takes it,another step and makes it what it should be, so if for instance your seeing it taking longer to manually shift down, like the reviews say then rebellions will be instant, I suppose like Matts BMW is I think.
I personally don't use flappy paddles enough to warrant it, I'm 43 so I like lazy sport mode
Rebellion have also just released a throttle response thing that make it more urgent, like we had in the scooby sports sharp etc....
If you need anything for that c63 ask ACID at MSL in Birmingham he's developed it with Weistec for yours, he'll tell you exactly what you should and shouldn't do, he's been doing it for ages
Rebellion are just too new for me to bother with

Lol....... I'm not comparing the amount your car devalues with other brands, I'm getting more at the point you must have more money than sense to buy a new car. I mean 20K down the drain in 4 years just in depreciation
And it's on finance too..... so when you come to sell it you'll have to fork out a huge chunk of cash just to fill the hole between what you owe and what the car is actually worth...

Financed the purchase of a new car last year (£32k). Had been looking at second hand with a list price £10k less. Worked all the numbers to see what was cheapest over a 36 month period (both new and second hand) and it was actually less expensive over 3 years to buy new and finance on a PCP deal assuming hand back and walk away than to either buy outright, finance on HP or finance by bank loan. You often get better rates on new rather than second hand.
If its worth anything at all more than the GFV its an even better outcome for me.
And thats all before you take into account the opportunity cost of tying up capital if you buy for cash. (basically what else you could do with the in Mattee's case £76,000 tied up in depreciating assets)
And in any rate, £20k over 4 years depreciation is less than £100 a week or £14 a day. How many people spend at least that on ****?

I'm guessing you don't understand car finance very well then?

Not really keen on "opportunity costs" as I don't seeing around. Our opportunity is our business; anything that helps it make more is good.
And houses bore me so much, I will probably cry the day we convert our savings into a bloody pile of bricks and non stop costs.
Cars are much more fun
By sheer fluke though, the options I ticked on the BM all have the best GFVs.

At least I know what happening to our cash (rapid loss on the BM unless they miraculously become classics, glacial depreciation on the van) rather than some fat city toss bag investing it and losing it all. And it's fun. And it allows us to get new business. And we arrive fresh. And they give the right image (we think).

My prevous car was a cash purchase, this one PCP. Could have bought this one for cash but a) the finance was cheap and b) circumstances at the time meant it was nice to keep the cash in the bank and finance the depreciation (which - lets be honest - is what PCP is) from income.
As far as opportunity cost goes, if you have the time and inclination, however, and going no where near financial investments, you could probably use that £76k to pay your car finance costs and have pretty much £76k (or more) left at the end of your car finance period.
But then what's the opportunity cost of your time and effort to to so. Especially for you guys running your own business.

I'm not criticising Matt, and if you've got the cash and don't need it for anything else then go for it. Its nice to contain monthly outgoings for sure.

As you say, there's no right or wrong but for many people, their way is the ONLY way!!
