The fuel flap issue can be fixed at any dealer under warranty with a new part. The plastic piece that sits inside the flap. Get that done to.

performance creations are making mud flaps just now if anyone is interested, i have one of the first sets from them, im taking pics during the fitting process so they can make up fitting instructions.

i have an HT Auto splitter kit in the garage, a Pro-R air filter in the post and a Nameless performance exhaust getting built just now, as well as the mud flaps from performance creations

hope to clear some space in the garage and get the flaps and splitters fitted tomorrow out of the rain

Will the flaps be as good as the Rally Armour ones we use to fit on the previous model and now available in the UK? How much?

i'v run with performance creations (rally flapz) on a lot of my scoobs over the years with no probs and a spot on fit, im not sure on the price as this is the 1st set to fit so they can get pics to go with the fitting instructions so got them at cost of manufacture

will post some pics and let you know how easy they were to fit and how good a fit they are, sun looks to be the dry day here

Lucky today, managed to receive assistance from a kindly motorist whilst attempting to put fuel in. It did'nt stop any of the embarrassment or ridicule from the majority of onlookers though. Oh the shame

A novelty at first, I even said it's an added safety feature

Trouble is on the horizon as once my patience has gone, it's gone.

nah the spring works fine, its the plastic tab it pushes on which releases the flap, it isn't long enough! The TSB from a dealer is to replace the plastic part which houses the tab the spring pushes against.

Are these like the previous models and best avoiding 19's? Has anyone tried them yet?

Had 19's on my previous blob and the ride was atrocious. I wouldn't bother.

True, but function over form for me. If you want to fill those arches, it would be better to get a spring kit and lower it, rather than stick 19's on it imo.

Cheers bio

After only 300 miles I'm wondering why I didn't do it sooner!

On another note any ideas how long I should wait until the engine is 'bedded in' before properly giving it the beans?

1K is advisable and put the engine under different loads. Keep it under 4.5-5Krpm, but i wouldn't worry about it too much.

Yeah I had a 2.5 that shat itself, along with many other people. The one in my current car has been assembled properly so I don't worry about it.

Joking aside, the new engines will be fine if the clearances have been sorted and these ceramic pistons are up to the job.
