Very nice. Where are you getting your red starter button from? That was next on my list to buy. There's two slightly different models aren't there?

Nice. How long did it take to arrive? If I give you the money in advance any chance you could order one for me?

Quick question for new shape Sti owners...

Our cars are fitted with scorpion trackers. Mine works perfectly as I had several missed calls and texts earlier in the week when my car was moving on a ferry.

I called scorpion track yesterday and they told me they don't offer the same online account services as normal customers as our trackers are factory fit. We technically should be able to have a login email and password, ping the car's location, send secure messages to scorpion saying you're about to be towed etc but apparently we don't get that facility.

Our dealer told us the first year of the subscription was paid for us and we'd have to pay scorpion from year 2 onwards so surely we should have the same facility as aftermarket customers shouldn't we?

Havent had a chance to get any nice pictures yet, but here she is;

Got a lot of running in to do and learning to drive a manual again after 2 years in a VW DSG is an experience

Dont suppose anyone knows anywhere to buy bits for these in the UK? Doesnt seem to be any support at all - not surprising given they dont sell many but Id expect at least a distributor of some sort. In particular Im after a Perrin master cylinder brace atm.

Hiya, can you just confirm that your head unit upgrade still uses all the steering wheel controls and also the usb in the center consol still Works? Looks great in your pictures and considering it myself,
We're did you get it fitted?

I'm going to view a new 2016 STI this week.

What made you guys buy this over say Golf R or Focus RS?

If I had that kind of money to spend I'd buy an sti aswell. I find an rs boring to look at I must admit, ? But the rs is still a beast of a car though

Price mainly, by the time you have added necessary options to the above you're looking at 35-40K minimum, the RS wasn't out when i got mine. Again you're looking at 35K+ from a 3rd party like RS Direct unless you want to wait a year to get a new one from a dealer.

I've tested both, the Golf R was dull to drive for me, also i hate flappy paddle boxes. The RS is on another level to be honest and i'm looking to get one next, when the right one comes available, or if something else comes out next year.

Thanks mate.

Other than the seats in the STI (Which look a bit pants compared to Recaro's) I prefer the STI inside. I prefer the look of the STI too.

I just worry/know that the STI will depreciate far quicker than the RS and is it wise the fly in the face of almost every review that says the RS is the better car.

I was going to get a B7 RS4 however, buying new will be more expensive, the running costs will be much less.

Yep the seats aren't as supportive or look as nice, but they are still decent seats. Mind you the shell recaros in the RS will be a bit snug if you're a bit lardy. I to prefer the interior and exterior looks of the STi especially versus the golf (it just looks like any regular golf). Yea the materials are nicer, but i prefer the scoobs layout and look. The RS's interior is probably the worst part of the car, its just like a regular focus or ST bar the blue stitching. The sync2 or 3 stereo is pretty good though.

Yup depreciation is always a killer, you can pickup '14 cars for 20-25K or less now.

Discounted the Golf R and S3 and A45. Not keen on any of them.

The flimsy Focus dash is poor. My 07 A4 has a better quality dash.

Alternative is keep my old A4 and buy a P1 and stick it in the garage. Hopefully better appreciation than a pension contribution

Had mine for 2 years now. When I brought my one the Focus RS didn't exist, did look at the Golf but it didn't feel special if that makes sense.
Test drove the STI and it was so much more refined than my STI Hatch, so it was an easy decision to come to.
Only think I'd like is a bit more exhaust noise (my Hatch had a Powerflow system), it's a great car and very quick in Sport # mode.
The seats are my only complaint, we have a Focus ST (Mark 3) as the family wagon and the seats in that are so much better.
Some people moan about the interior of the MY15 but it's a great improvement over the Scoobys of old. Also seems they have sorted the Ring Failures that dogged the Hatch's.

Golf R too common and boring, and I was tired of VW after a couple of years in one.

Focus RS tempting but I know a few people who have one so I wanted to not be the same. Also had an ST a few years back and that wore thin fast. Dont really like the styling or interior either.

I think I just really wanted an STI tbh, lots of good options around right now but none of them tickled my fancy.

Most tempting option was a nearly new M235/240i really, but I dont see that as something that will be difficult to obtain for much less a couple of years along.

Sorry if its the wrong place to post . Rang up my local dealer today to ask when to do first oil change was going to get it done at 1000miles . They said to wait till its a year or 10 k miles ? Also he said not to start enjoying the car i.e giving it some revs intill its done 4 to 5 k . Only going to use the car for weekends be a year before i get that many miles on it?

1K is all you need for the run in period and i definitely would change the oil after 5K intervals at least or every 6 months, especially if you intend to map it or do any other mods. Changing it after 1K is overkill (not needed).

As above, run in is 1k. I had the oil changed at 1k too as I prefer to know its all healthy but it is probably overkill.

First oil change I do is always at 1000 miles then every 3000 mile there after. I'm just very pedantic about it.

I know modern oils are much better than they ever were but still I'm just like that

#postie90 you can pick up a steering wheel stalk of eBay or just google it online. And yes you can use your steering wheel buttons, easy fit aswell as I have the same head unit
