I'd also agree take big but empty suitcases just enough clothes for a couple of days and hit the shops, with 4 of you you'll spend a few quid but the price of decent quality stuff is really surprising, last time I was out there I bought about 6 pairs of trainers. for the price of 2 here.

Advice (having just returned):

Disney try and keep you in the resort as much as possible, but you REALLY MUST see the following other parks:

Universal studios.
Universal Islands of Adventure.
Sea World
Discovery Cove (you need to book in advance)
Busch Gardens

A word of advice on the water rides (e.g. log flumes and rapids rides) out there; you will most likely get drenched (literally as if you'd jumped in a pool)!! If this is unacceptable, get a poncho.

You might also like to try Aquatica and/or wet and Wild for waterparks, although Disney's Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard beach are both great parks (the latter one has more in it).

Eat a BIG breakfast; surprising how hungry you get in parks otherwise and the food there ranges from mediocre to dire and is always pricey.

Sunscreen: ESSENTIAL; You will burn badly without it and it's a holiday killer to get burned in Florida!

Water: lots of it; you will sweat for England. Wear sunglasses and a hat to fend of the sunstroke.

Clothes, Nothing fancy, shorts t-shirts swimwear, that's it! No one expects you to dress up, even for the restaurants

Outlet mall: I got 6 pairs of Levi jeans for the price of about 2 in the UK - enough said, but don't spend ages in it - it's mostly cheap(er) designer wear, watches and luggage lol. Levis is a must do though and the Nike shop for sportswear and trainers.

Restaurants: do your homework on trip advisor and hit some of the good uns; none are particularly dear relative to London prices and some do really excellent food. Highly recommend the Bonefish Grill!

Sounds geeky, but I'd really make an itinerary to make sure you fit everything in; it's not the kind of holiday where you want to lose time to indecision.

Have a great time.

I have tickets for all of the above apart from discovery cove but TBH i'm not adding another trip in as I don't think we have the time. Cheers for the heads up on the water rides, I think I will give them a miss or maybe as the last ride of the day. I aslo did not want to go shopping but more and more people are saying how good/cheap it is. Just bough some half decent shorts (about six pairs) think I will send them back. I was also going to buy new trainers but me flip flops and old addidas smabas will do.

Your right it is geeky to make an itinerary, but I have done one any way. The is a wedsite called the dibb and they let you do an online planner.

Cheers for the advice

Going with the misses and 2 kids 9 and 10
Make sure you visit Harry Potter's wizarding world. WOW!!!

All on International Drive:

Make sure you try the 'Sizzlers' buffet!!!!

Ponderosa breakfast buffet!

McD's dollar menu with free refills on pop!!

Cissi's pizza buffet!!!

Gatorland is ok.

Nasa centre was boring.

Epcot/Disney Animal Kingdom deffo worth a visit.

Don't stand on the Lizards and snakes that shoot across paths from the long grass.

Wet and Wild is run down and some of the slide joints cut your elbows!!

old town kissimmee is a good 2 hours night time fun as is downtown disney!

I think Billy Wong's went under the waitress told me she loved me.

Florida Mall and Premium outlets are a good start. Mall at millenia is ok but more expensive iirc.
The main desk in your resort will have leaflets on where everything is, most outlets are eay to find.

Sizzlers is ace! The Spinach is to die for!

It's like Taybarns without the weird stomach pains after.
