What makes you think they won't?

Con/Lib/Lab have had their chance. They've not kept their promises and treated the electorate with contempt. Most voters are not fools and will not continue to vote for parties which don't deliver.

UKIP have really got some real momentum behind them, and unlike the other parties, they come across like they actually give a ****. They're led by someone whose got business experience (Farage was a commodities trader), not ex-barristers and lawyers like the others - in other words those who are experts in bullsh1tting.

A win for UKIP will really rock the boat for UK politics and show the old parties that people won't put up with being treated as fools.

Some interesting electoral analysis by Electoral Calculus estimates that UKIP would need to get over24% of the vote in 2015 to win a single seat in Westminster. More outrageously, Lib Dems currently polling around 9% would win 25 seats!!
I believe this is going to become a big issue, as it will really highlight the lunacy of our current FPTP electoral system.
I may not support UKIP, but above all else I want the will of the people properly represented. The thought of 24% of the voting public being totally disenfranchised is utterly bewildering. I would have a bit more sympathy for Farage if he wasn’t a supporter of FPTP though.

Have voted Conservative for both the european and local elections. Surprised at how many options there were for the former.

Apparently a lot of people have been getting handed their voting slips with the bottom folded, so you don't see the UKIP box, and right at the top there is UK Independence Party (NOT UKIP)... wonder how many mis-votes will be cast because of this?!..

If that's enough to discombobulate the voter then they shouldn't have the right to vote.

Surely the voter would recognise the logo though?

Nope, I suffer from neither apathy or indifference. As for my political leanings they're not on the left.

IF the above is true, the polling officer and clerk deserve a prison sentence.

'An Independence from Europe' with the slogan 'UK Independence Now'. Surely only a moron would get it mixed up on the ballot paper.

Parties are listed alphabetically so 'An Independence from Europe' is therefore at the top.

Yes, but Pete seems to think that there is a party called ''UK independence party'' that is NOT ukip.

I don't believe that is the case.

Perhaps this shows how easily ukip voters get confused. I suppose if you walk around angry and outraged all the time it's quite difficult to concentrate

I know I aware they're alphabetical. It certainly looked pretty clear to me, I think the story was maybe a bit overblown.

Can't wait to see the outcome of this election tomorrow!!

I can't see how this could happen. The pad has hundreds of pages plus a hard back. It would be like putting a 3inch fold in a local phone book. Maybe when you get down to the bottom but even then the people who hand out the papers are jobworths and take their role VERY seriously. no,no,no,no,yes.

The voting slip I was given was ripped off the pad, folded in three and handed to me.

I still managed to wipe my **** on it.

A dirty protest.

I saw the ballot paper tonight and you'd have to be thick to confuse the two and if that were the case you'd be voting Tory so no worries

I spoilt my ballot for the European election.

I don't support almost any of the UKIP points from their manifesto, but I also do not think any of the other mainstream parties deserve my vote.

I have no favourite thieving lying bull****ting pigs at a trough politician. I treat them all with equal contempt.

UKIP for me too, not because they are wonderful, just because I despise the other tossers more

UKIP MEP for me and no confusion. Odd that the local options had two Conservative candidates.
