not competing with the prices stated in prvious posts bud, I wouldn't make any ££ lol they are internet dispatch tyre outlets who make pennies on tyres but sell in bulk to keep prices down

Doh!, They've sent the wrong tyres. XL in lieu of standard. If I'm willing to keep them, they're offering a "3%" discount which is a bit rich considering the price has dropped about 6% since ordering so if i sent them back and re-ordered, I'd be better off.

Only problem is that I wanted them for a trip next week.

High praise indeed, I'm happy with e reviews I have read just shame about the available sizes, or more accurately, the width of them in a 16".

What would you recommend size wise for a 16" on a Classic mate ?

Surely the additional 5% of sidewalk shouldn't make too much difference? It's an additional 10mm to the rolling radius by my calculations, the speedo will under-read a little bit though.

Anyone actually running 55 profiles on a classic?

225 45 16 have pretty much the same rolling radius as 205 50 16

Makes the speedo bang on accurate.
I run 205/55 x 16's on the road - I like the additional compliance. I think 205/55 was the standard classic fitment in the US.

Just to clarify, I don't, as yet, use the NS-2R's, but I always use 205/55 x 16 on the road.
Have had Nokian zg2, Hankook V12 k110 (now replaced by k120) and currently Dunlop sport maxx r/t.
I know the NS2r's (wet B rated) start out with 8mm of tread depth, and are OK at shifting water at that depth. But I wouldn't compromise wet weather braking on a daily driver - the maxx r/t's are wet A rated - UNTIL I see them tested against other UHP road tyres.

Just bear in mind, the tests, to get the wet ratings A,B,C etc, are a combination of a slow speed straight-line wet braking test - 50mph to 13mph, and a friction test.
I'd suggest they obtained a B wet rating, which is 3-6 metres (best A to worst B) longer stopping distance, than an A rating, due to a good friction rating - they are, after all, soft 120/180, not from clever tread pattern.

I want to be proved wrong though.
