I wouldn't touch budget tyre for road use with crap wet grip especially where now are almost 20quid per corner more expensive than assym 2.
If op has tight budget and can't afford 888 for track use than he can use them,but don't put ditch finders on public forum for other members for road use.

As I said before if you have not driven with these model Nankang tyres on the road how can you possibly make any edition to this thread?I have driven using them and for what they cost are a superb purchase for anyone in the market for a performance tyre.One more thing running mismatch tyres on a AWD car is a accident waiting to happen,and there is no way I would ever recommend anyone to do it in the long run or to use different tyres front and rear when driving hard,have a nice afternoon

There's a certain well known person on this forum with a bald head who owns a 450bhp Hawkeye track car that has a set of 888's along with a set of NS2-R's both in the same size who has mentioned many times that there isn't much difference between the two sets in wet or dry conditions - considering the price difference, thats high praise if you ask me!
When I've killed my Yoko AD07's or Goodyear GSD03 F1's (2 sets of wheels) I'll definately be trying the Nankang's, at the price it's definately worth a punt!

i took a mate out in my car last night and he was amazed at the traction and asked what tyres were on it,there nankang ns2-r and he was very impressed.
for the price you cant beat them.

Apparently they are on par with 888s to some extent (soft on a trackday), but these go off a little earlier than 888s so great bang for buck in comparison.
The ns2r are better in wet though.

I'm looking at getting a set of tyres after xmas. How do the nankang NS2-sport 87V compare to the NS2-R for purely road use? At less than £180 for 4 tyres I'm guessing they are worlds apart?
Imo I wouldn't try any other nankangs, there's far more choices out there for simlar money.
let me know what you think about them once you give them a proper rinse

1. cheap affordable track/fastroad orientated tyre
2. B rating for wet grip (better than a lot of high end brands)
3. grip levels the same as 888s and ado8s etc on track
4. 8mm of tread (888s are 4mm)
5. excellent wear rate
I have had mine on for nearly 2 years now , done 2 trackdays , 10k miles , roadtripped to Norway and back and they still have 3mm left lol . excellent in the wet , epic in the dry , the only downside is they are noisier than normal tyres but they are track tyres so cant complain. I sell hundreds of them and all my customers have given great feedback about them even hardened 888 and yoko track folk . what more do you want
