NANKANG NS-2R

NANKANG NS-2R I said I was not going to start a thread about these tyres but thought that I must:D.After forking out just under a Grand for my AD08R rubber for my car just to add they are Superb:thumb:,A Good friend of mine has just popped around and I have driven his car with the Nankang tyres on and they are excellent, where I live has quite a few roundabouts and his Impreza (500+bhp) made the 360deg turn around them look easy with no tyre squeal just pure grip.I am glad for him as they came in at half the price that I paid for my YOKO'S,and had I driven his car before I would of definitely purchased them,He has done a couple of track days already and he said that they performed brilliantly, and one of the sessions the track was wet.So it's just a heads up for anyone in the market for tyres and contemplating getting a road track tyre the Nankang tyres are up to the job.SJ.

215/45/17 or 225/45/17?

stonejedi 21 April 2014 04:30 PM

Camskill seem to be the cheapest through various sizes and they will beat any genuine internet price,so best to shop around and if you find a better price then there listed price, email them and they will beat it according to my mate,He told me that he paid £100 a corner for 225 /40 /18.SJ.

I think there around £90 odd don't quote me on that as it's just a guesstimate, best to go on there site or shop around the net:thumb:they are superb tyre's though I'm still in shock eek:really at just how good they are.SJ.

bustaMOVEs 21 April 2014 04:59 PM

Yep good tyres are these, on par with 888 and ad08s, excellent wet grip too at a fraction of cost.
There are 2 compounds, soft and medium.
Openeo seem to have best price on them last time I checked.

225/40/18 Nankang NS-2R Tyres £89.99

Or 225/45/17 Nankang NS-2R tyres £80.79

Heard good reviews about this company on MLR!! think its free delivery too!!!:thumb:

scoobyboy1 21 April 2014 05:36 PM

So if you have 18 inch wheels you could get 4 brand new trackday tyres as good as R888, AD08's for £360 from that company I posted prices for!!!

veerinder9 21 April 2014 05:39 PM

Thats pretty cheap. How would these be in the wet though? Also wouldn't the 225 be too big for a 17x7" wheel?

If these are good as the r888 and ad08s then I got a feeling the prices of the nankangs will go up or the other's will have to come down drastically :)

Not for a newagae, but classic would benefit from 215

The 205s will make it look too skinny :( lol. Il have a look into it. But I do have adjustable coilovers so I could higher it abit to stop it from rubbing the arches

ScoobyNudge 21 April 2014 10:39 PM

I have these fitted to my uk300 newage scooby 215/35/18 I'm not so sure about them

Anyone know anything about these?

Kind of a slim rubber for 18" inch wheels maybe try a 225/40/18,to be honest I have never liked classics on 18's,17 inch wheels are the optimum wheel size for handling on classics to me,for 17"inch wheels I would recommend 215/45/17 or even 225/45/17 if they can fit without rubbing, all depends how low your car is or just get your arch's rolled for even more options.SJ.

180 or 120 compound ? :)

mechanix 21 April 2014 11:31 PM

120 compound. ... its a sprint car... .

Oskar 22 April 2014 10:10 AM

I have the NS-2R 120TW 225-45-17 on my Legacy, they are awesome both in dry and wet! Better wet grip than my old Goodyear Eagle F1.

a5h 22 April 2014 10:53 AM

I got the NS-2R's on my Hawk for Track use. Ended up using them for the road too after using them during the wet on a track day. Great tyre with loads of grip the only difference i noticed is people on 888's were able to stay out for more laps as i think the 888's could handle the heat better but at less than half the price i was happy enough.

Sorry if this seems thick

But what's the difference between the 2 I'm guessing it's softness / stiffness?

What would be better suited to road use, but they do get driven ;)
