It's worth keeping an eye on japanese yahoo auctions.
Do the seats sit lower with these frames compared with what you had previously?
How do you find the Clio?
Thanks, I'll keep an eye out
This set up is much stronger than the previous, has a much more OE feel to the sliders as you'd expect from Recaro and I've set it about an inch higher than last time, I prefer it.
I still have the Clio (for now) it's OK, easy to drive and has a good chassis but it's no Spec C
How do you find the B14s in comparison to the KWs?
i thought the V1s were the KW equivalent of B14s? You'd assume anyway that the Clubsport would be better, no? Genuinely interested as my JDM Hawk is screaming for suspension and I've been looking at B14s and V1s.
Very nice car with some trick mods. I've got Recaros for mine to go in as well, do you run a harness bar when your using the harnesses?

I think it all comes down to what you want out of the car/chassis.
Are Clubsport's 'better' than B14's? All depends on what you want from them.
I like my current set up as I feel it's well balanced.
I don't think you could go wrong with either B14's or KW V1's.
That's exactly what I'm saying, Clubsports are marketed as a very high end coilover, especially in comparison to their own V1s. I just wondered how the B14s faired against them and if there were any noticeable differences that made the B14 coilover better.
With that in mind I see you do plenty of track driving hence my question about removal of Clubsports, aren't they better for that sort of thing as opposed to the B14s?
Although I haven't tried any of the above in a Subaru, my personal experience with KW v3 in my Abarth 500 (for sale at the moment) is that the suspension travel was too limited and they bottomed out often limiting grip.
A custom modification to their internals removing the spacers gave me 2.5cm more travel and by raising the car it made such a positive difference to the handling.
Suspension is something very subjective and it depends on the roads someone drives on.

My choice to swap out the KW Clubsports was purely down to my use of the car at that time, it was driven on road, track and the ring. On track they were very good but a little too harsh on the road and I was offered the B14’s at a good price.
For what I want the B14’s along with the other chassis modifications are a good all round package.
If your primarily road driving I’d recommend the KW V1’s, if you doing road and a fair bit of track driving I’d recommend trying the B14’s.
Had this for a while and am looking forward to trying it out...
The quality of manufacture is really good.
Mmmmm I do love CAE shifters. Would love one for the spec c when I have the gearbox refurbed. Waiting for a used one to pop up as their a bit pricey new!
Sorry for the daft ?????
Does this change gear like a car or move backwards and forwards?
CAE shifter are H pattern but raise the shifter to a higher level nearer the wheel for quicker shifts with a shorter throw. They are spring loaded so you don't miss gears
You can get shifters from ikeya that use clever mechanics to transfer a forward or backwards shift (like sequential) into the H pattern box. Bit of a waste as you don't get any of the positives of a proper sequential and lose the benefits of H pattern.
