Wonderful, this Uwell Crown tank has started leaking from the air holes. One of the times it 1/3 emptied my tank.
You start to doubt yourself if it's you that's doing something wrong, i know how to prime a coil, i know the correct tightness to screw it in, i know to close off the air holes when filling from the top and i know to start off at a lower wattage on a new coil then build it up etc.
I took the tank apart, i thought i'd have a look at the coil to see how it was constructed to see if it was similar to the Kanger ones. It's very similar and their is one major issue with the way these coils seem to be built, the coil wire sits on the lip of the coil housing then a rubber seal is pushed down on top of this raised bit of coil wire. This means their is a gap the size of the thickness of the coil wire between the seal and the metal housing of the coil.
I then had a closer look at this seal, it was crushed where it had been pressing against the coil wire, not only that they create a hook shape in the coil wire that sits underneath the seal so it hooks onto the body of the coil housing, that sharp shape had put a hole in this particular seal so it's a pretty good guess as to where the fluid is coming out of.
I then had a quick google search for Uwell Crown tank flooding, their seems to be quite a few threads where people have the same problem with it coming out of the air holes. People using the RBA's don't seem to be having this problem, it's mainly with the stock coils. Some people with the stock coils seem to be ok as well where as others can't stop the flooding.
i guess it's down to the batches of coils and where you have bought them from, their is obviously some good batches out there but by the sounds of it their are some bad batches as well, so you'll either be lucky with your coils or you won't. I can't believe they would skimp on the construction of these coils given how well this tank is constructed, it's a fine piece of engineering, well apart from the coils which maybe out sourced and not made in house.
Wonderful, just what i needed.

New mod, SMOK h-priv, early days(well hours to be exact), liking it. More compact than the cube 2, nice display and 220w if needed...............i dont! But the dual battery is always good for vape time.
Fits well in hand, trigger has a good feel................tank is a micro one so with the extra tank i think it goes from 2.5 to 3.5ml. It will do till i can get hold of a tfv8!

Well the 0.3ohm started to burn yesterday , luckily the micro R2 came in the post. Micro it is! sausage fingers adds to the fun!!
Dual clapton coil
Cracking vape, reading 0.28ohm(0.3) on the mod, 28W works well for a nice warm cloudy vape.
My 2 every day vapes right now

I still need to have a go at assembling my Kanger rebuildables.
Nebox #2 is still performing great for me with square 0.5 coils, no unexpected leaks and way more vapour than I need.

Once you do jack, there will be no looking back. Imo its a nicer vape and it is 0.5ohm in the actual RBA. All it needs is a wick and good to go. Of 2 people in work, both have had the coils , both have been on the RBA's for 6+ months now. Best bit is they are as good as free to run. Even buying ready made, 50 coils for £5 or so, cotton for £5 will last years and years!!

1st post here, still reading through all the info on here. Been vaping a fair few years now. At one point it was my hobby collecting and trying new attys every week. Its all about the flavour for me. Not purchased nothing new for quite a while now, still more than happy with my set ups
Tonights vape -dripper hybrid with a nice titanium drip tip
old pic but same juice and set up

I was the same, pretty much a new mod every other week or new tank etc etc . All i found was the other tanks got side lined so now i stick with a good 2 or 3 tanks. I resist the latest and greatest and even shifted a few mods now.
Stuff i have left off the top of my head
Mods
Kanger platinum
SMOK X cube2
SMOK H-Priv
Joytech vt60 mini x2
Tanks
TFV4 X2
Uwell Crown x2

At least another 3 or 4 tanks stored away.
Just trying out the strawberry milkshake from vampire vape, seems a very nice flavour so far, still my go to is Heisenberg.

Yes, maybe VV10 was the last one, previous(june) VV15............Helps toward the postage costs!
Well speaking of Heisenberg, a guy in work will only have that, has to be a menthol type and he loves it. Prefers the bought version over the VV version. He tried the strawberry milkshake yesterday. Very impressed to a point he said next time i order, to get him some! Few have tried it, yet to have someone not like it, not sickly, just very nice or maybe too nice!(vape more of).
I had to thoroughly wash out the tank though to remove any Heisenberg flavour as quite potent.
Look forward to your impressions when you try it, always hard to recommend flavours as everyone is different. So far this seems a good one as who has tried it have liked it a lot.

Long time no speak guys.
Still on the vape train and loving it.
Still prefer my subox mini to the XCube Smok 2.
I may even purchase the Platinum Topbox Mini soon.
I did order my first DIY kit last night. Its probably more than I had to pay but I worked it out to 89p per 10ml so not bad.
I went for the large kit and added 50ml of 50mg nicotine.
http://makemyvape.co.uk/store/mixing-kits.html?___SID=U
Flavour wise, I just stuck to bubblegum as that's my all day vape.
I do like Heisenburg though so will purchase some of that at a later date.
I was going to go for 10% flavour and 6mg of strength.
Any tips? Do I have to let it settle for a few days once mixed?
Also need to get a couple more batteries so any recommendations? I see some 18650's offer 2500mAh and some 2600 and 3000??

I started on 10% flavor but soon moved to 20% for a nice vape, also on 6mg nic.
My favorite is Heisenberg from vampire vape.
There is no need to steep but I find better flavor when it is left to steep for a while.
Battery's I get from ecolux on the bay,as recommended by ven.
My preferred battery is Samsung 25R.

Does anyone know if there are people out there who have taken up vaping as a habit, or a 'cool thing' to do having never been a smoker?
I'm just curious - having been a smoker for many years and been of them for around 15 years - never tried vaping or had cause to try it.

Not personally, but I've seen young kids doing it who probably haven't smoked before, which is definitely not cool. Although you could argue that's better than smoking **** to be part of the "in" crowd.
Why haven't you had cause to try it? Don't you care about your health?

For those with the kanger topbox mini, how are you finding it? Seriously thinking of getting one today.
A battery arc'd in my xcube 2 last night so it has completely screwed the box!

I've got the platinum version, it's a good mod with a lot of flexibility, changing the settings is very easy. Mine is quite heavy in weight, maybe because its an all metal version, not sure what weight the red, white and black ones are. You get used to the weight anyway, gives you piece of mind that it's built solid. I'm using mine with Samsung batteries, i've read that the LG ones are good if not better.
I wouldn't buy the kit as the tank that comes with it constantly leaks, you'll find other reviews that will tell you the same, i don't rate kanger coils either.
I'm using mine with a Uwell Crown tank which is a lot better than the Kanger tank.

On the flavour side, as said 20% really, more stronger flavours, like menthol or heisenburg etc you can get away with 15%
But going higher in the VG% for smoothness and clouds, you can loose a little flavour as PG is the one for that, So its just a case of balancing out a bit. Generally 20% just works well, i am doing a 70/30 mix just to add a tad of PG to aid flavour.
The heisenburg does seem to improve with steeping a little, even if a few days to a week.
Got some black jack today but made it for someone in work......smells nice anyway! Still another 2 bottles of strawberry milkshake to top up............loving it!!! Still not heard anyone not like it yet, another couple of guys tried it just today and their eyes lit up............well considering one had one of those useless ecig(actual plastic crappy cig that glows) no wonder!
Still find myself using my kanger platinum the most, also with crown and RBA with a 0.4ohm coil and 18w power...........consistent nice vape.
The smok h priv is good too, thats one i rotate with now and then, the platinum is just comfy to hold, fits in pocket that bit easier.

Cloud beast............the TFV8
Quite impressed tbh, nicely made, my interest is more in the RBA side and that is excellent as large=easy to build on
Size comp, tfv4 micro and uwell crown
Ready made beast of a coil
work of art
My best bit, RBA
Dual claptons for a 0.3ohm build
Big wells to feed the wicks in, real is easy compare to the smaller ones
More like a dripper base but tank fed
Soaked
Cap screwed on
Screwed into base
Tank screwed into top of RBA coil thread
In the box, lots of bits n bobs
]
Does my tank look big on this
Now tried 50 and 60w and works fine, sticking with 50w for a more heavy vape style. In the shop i tried it at 250w ...........yes 250w and its not as bad as you would think, not for constant vaping though!
Top of pic(top hat adapter) for using your own preferred drip tip if the need arises
Goes like this
Then into top of tank like this
Very impressed with it

Been using it for a couple of hours now at 45w, find happy medium and no leaks. Can go generous with the wick to fill the wells. I do like the crius tank/base but this beats it hands down . Really is a breeze to do, the coils are pretty big that are installed too.
Its defo for a dual cell mod though, it would eat a single cell mod in 30m !

Full day of use now on the tfv8................its awesome! That dual clapton at a steady 50w= vape perfection for me at 0.29ohm. For now only had Heisenberg in it(cba cleaning out for the milkshake, its in my other in use crown anyway).
Highly recommend

I tend to make 70/30 to aid the flavour a bit(20%) So in 150ml bottle, 30ml of PG flavour, works out around 15ml extra of PG. The rest is VG and VG nic.
Not had any flavour issues of yet though, sometimes we do get used to it, rotating with another tank(different flavour) really helps out there.
