So after using the aspire alantis mega for a couple of weeks now i have found it to be very good, only gripe is its a bit big and heavy to carry around all the time.
So today i have been and got myself the nautilus mini with a vmw sub mod 2500 mAh 80w battery for everyday use. finding it to be about the right size/weight to keep in the pocket with quite a decent hit.
Also got a load more different juices liking the butterscotch ATM.
Found a shop within driving distance that has a good range of flavours and a wide range of different equipment who will also do mail order shipments maybe useful to some of you.

I had the same problem after 2 weeks of using the subox.
Turns out it was the new style vertical coil which was the problem, the little seal on the screw end of the coil had warped!
I've switched to the old style horizontal coil and not a drop leaking

Built my first coil last week. Taste is so much better! Especially when using my local shops new Bubble Gum flavour!

I can only think the reason kanger changed to vertical is that you can re-wick the horizontal ones. I do have the rebuildable coil but not used it yet as I just re-wick the old ones

The older horizontal one is compatible? I was led to believe it wasn't! Will try this. Btw theres nothing wrong with the vertical coils just give the little oring a lick of juice like you would an oil filter before fitting

I only got one 0.5ohm vertical with the subox so I binned that when it started leaking,I had a pack of the old coils left and they are exactly the same fit,I will keep re-wicking them and then move on to the rebuildable I recon.

I dont know how people vape these daily if they do. Its good for a couple of vapes then hot as power needs to be 60w very minimum. Ideally 80-120w and even at 120w its not burnt. Lots of very warm vape, too warm after a couple of vapes. Tank gets too hot to touch

you certainly don't want to drop it on your foot!!

£75 that's all for the kit (gone up to £80), separate the mod is £60 and tank £35 for full kit.

Added a aspire triton and a MPV3.0 60w pro 4500 mAh box to the list of kit today.
Love the triton but its a right pita to try a clean out.

Hi all,
After a bit of advice really.stumbled across this thread yesterday and found that I read the whole lot.
I feel I no know more about the subject but it can still be a bit confusing to me and others I'd imagine with all these abbreviations which are like another language nearly if you aren't in the know.
Occ,rda etc.

I myself have been vaping on and off for around 2 years to try and knock the cigs on the head (around 25 a day) but have always been underwhelmed by the experience and found myself going back on the tabs.
I've only ever used what I can only describe as budget e products judging by the market these days.
Bottom fill tops that constantly leak, flood, gurgling etc. throw away top fillers that burn the wick out in days and taste like plastic.
I was ready to bin it off entirely but I kept hearing from friends how great it was and they never had bother !

With this in mind I decided I'd give it another go last week and went to the local shop and purchased a variable battery (1650 ?) and variable airflow top.
I had a better experience with this but couldn't help thinking it still wasn't where it needed to be as the flavour and vape wasn't enough.
I kept buying and trying different brands of fluid thinking it was that, not good enough quality.
I went out at the weekend and purchased a kanger genitank mega hoping that might help, initially I thought it was better but it's very similar tbh.
Then yesterday I came across this thread which helped no end now I think I'm going to order the kanger sub pro ? The black one that keeps getting posted on here.
Question is can I get .5 ohm coils for the kanger mega tank to use as well as the supplied top ?
I can't seem to find any and it comes supplied with 1.8 ohm x2 in the pack.

I think I need to try sub ohm to find what's missing in my vape situation.

All that being said even with my budget setup I've stuck with it for over a week now and not touched a cigarette.

Cheers
Tim

Hey there, only certain mods(ecig unit) will recognize the sub ohm coils(less than 1.0ohm is sub ohm). The kanger mini kit imo is about the best value/performing unit you can get right now. On amazon its less than £50 all in with tank.

Juice wise you will get better/smoother vape from higher VG or AG(pre diluted VG as VG is quite thick and can have trouble wicking).

I use DIY fluid and make 50/50 but i am going to make some 70/30 soon to help my coils on the vtf4 tank.

Coils can be bought off ebay or amazon for around £10 for 5

The vertical coils i find great on the mini kit mentioned above

The aero tank mega i have and does not support sub ohm

I recommend this tank/kit
Kanger SUBOX Mini Black Starter kit BLACK EDITION - No Nicotine: Amazon.co.uk: Health & Personal Care Kanger SUBOX Mini Black Starter kit BLACK EDITION - No Nicotine: Amazon.co.uk: Health & Personal Care

Hard to beat as said, flavour and vape production is good and costs £10-£12 for 5 coils. Life of the coils vary from a week to a month generally.

Some pretty good tanks....

Aspire Mega
Aspire Atlantis v2
Aspire triton
Kanger sub(mini etc versions )

More advanced which require more powerful box mods(40-100w)

Smok TFV4
Uwell Crown

Now a lot of the sub tanks come with RBA bases(rebuild-able coils).

Most have the coils fitted and come with spares(can be bought pre-made or by the wire and make your own).

Jap cotton, cut, fit, trim (lots of tube vids on this) as its more time demanding but also more rewarding too.

Most are 18650 fed, require IMR or INR chemistry for the higher Amp ask. Also it goes in hand with a decent charger,Xtar to name one is recommended(not cheap crap like *****fire stuff that are re-cycled crap cells and highly exaggerated mah).
Samsung 25r and 30Q/efest 2500mah/sony vtc5(make sure not fake)/LG 2500mah to name some good cells.

Thanks ven for the reply,
That's the kit I was thinking of getting as it seems popular on here.
Is it possible to use my genitank mega with it then ? If I can get sub ohm coils for it.
I take it you get much more flavour with a higher battery and sub ohm ?
My flavour seems to die out quick and I'm using tw cherry atm.
Cheers

The kanger linked and in pic will work with any 510 tank(so yes with yours). It will work with normal coils and can be adjusted to suit the coils(adjust the W).

The bonus of the kanger mini is that it supports sub ohm coils which standard mods will not detect. They will just show as if there is no coil there,be it an error or blank being less than 1.0ohm.

Bought juice varies, some are very good, others(more so the cheap stuff) are not the best for flavours.

Look for decent juices that are higher in VG content for sub coils. Most normal bought fluid contain around 80% PG and 20% VG. the PG= throat hit/flavour and VG gives a smooth cloudy vape.

Making your own fluid comes in here as you can tweak it to your wants/needs and works out a lot cheaper too. I can make 100ml for £10-£12 for example and its better than bought fluids i have tried. Now there are more options,so getting some nice ready made fluids is not difficult compared to a couple of years back.

Yes sub-ohm gives better flavour and vape in short. The other benefit is you can lower your nic content significantly .

Example,if your on 18mg nic now,sub ohm you could use 6mg easy and get a good hit. Even less depending on how low the ohm........

Yes, just make sure a trusted seller, check reviews(not that amazons are useful most of the time )

Also samsung 25r are a good option

If you use a mod which takes 2x18650 cells, then make sure a matching set, never mix/match cells(maybe one for the future as when the bug bites it never ends )

These are 4.2v cells,nominal voltage is 3.6v or 3.7v at around 40% charge give/take.

These require a dedicated charger and can be dangerous if not treated with respect(not saying you wont).

Lots of info on lithium and hybrid cells on the net,if new its worth a read up,battery university is one site.

These cells are found in laptops to power tools,so contain a lot of energy .

Thanks ven I'll order the kit today and try and find some more .5 coils as it looks like it only has 1 in the kit.
I'll order the battery also as it looks like it's not included in the kit.

Making my own liquid is something that interests me but just getting a decent one to use for now is a must.

Hi Tim, i have ordered for the 1st time from decadent vapors
http://decadentvapours.com/

I went for the wild cherry bubble gum........its not a cheap site for sure but hoping this concentrate will be as good as the reviews i have read!!

TW are good for flavours, iirc the red label is 50/50 pg/vg

Use SUMMER25 for a 25% discount at the end if applicable(some already reduced)

http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.co.uk/

Kits wise for making your own fluid

I also use go4smoke
http://www.goforsmoke.com/go4smoke-m...sed-9990-p.asp

100ml beaker, bottle of PG and AG,nic concentrate at around £12 for 72mg/100ml . Flavours tend to be the more expensive at £2.50-£3.50 per 10ml.

To make 100ml at 20% flavour simple 20ml of flavour

I use this calc to work my fluid out, just fill in the gaps and calculate
http://www.c9v-forum.com/Resources/Calc/calc.htm

Its so easy, just pour in the ml of each to add up to what ml your making.

You wont look back!! and i regret not doing it earlier............hence why i recommend it. Wish i had a couple of years back, would have saved £100s

No probs Tim anytime, good luck with it.

Just remember with the new sub mini, prime the coils first(little drops of fluid around the top of coil into the wick and not into centre) Look for the juice holes at the sides getting wet, then fit to tank, couple of drags without power and start low 10w. Then ramp up a couple of W a time till you find your sweet spot. Depending on the juice, around 15-25w seems about right.

Thanks again ven
I might give that juice a go that's previously been mentioned (strawberry fields??)
See what that's like,I used to use bubblegum a while back but have moved town since and my local shop doesn't sell it,don't really rate the liquids they sell anyway so looks to be online purchases till I man up and make my own stuff
Amazon are out of stock of the k mini atm too but hopefully back in this week.

Not sure tbh, totally wicked have nice juices, patriot range are good and have new 10 flavours out,

I used to have blueberry and blackberry along with mixed berry and liked them a lot.

Making your own, capella bubble gum is great for a flavour concentrate and TW's too(out of stock for a week or two yet)

I have ordered wild cherry bubble gum from decadent vapor which is not the cheapest of shops......will see if its worth it in the next day or 2
