Cheers bud
your gonna have some good fun with a Sti
Will get them done after i get home from my next trip abroad.
i have a litre of black metalic paint from specialistpaints.com that I need to mix with some thinners before spraying in my hvlp spraygun so will do the grill and my centre console when i return.also detango as well but i am only removing the orange parts of the headlight and not spraying the internals of the headlight like some people do

I'll agree with you on the headlights having done both detango mods I preferred just the orange bit removed.

even tho you used a etched primer which sticks to metal very well
you used halfords spray paints which are extremely diluted with thinners they are totally garbage and I spray a lot of things and there is a massive difference between halfords spray paint to getting paints from a specialist company.
also when you have left the painted item to flash over you need to spray a clear coat " lacquer " on it to give it a good layer of protection
not any old clear coat either like the halfords range
but a 2k clear coat which needs to be mixed before pouring into the spraygun and once dried its the hardest wearing lacquer you can get.
it will still get chipped with stones on the road but it will be a hell of a lot more durable than the materials you used buddy.
here is a couple of things I have sprayed.
also I find I get a better finish using these over spray tins
but from time to time I still use a spray tin from time to time

I use the mini gun like in the pic and get great results, my mate even done his wheels with it and he was well impressed, I use to work for a classic and Motorsport car restoration place awhile back so I could mix my own paint etc
It's the only way to get great results and good gloss finishes using a spray gun, don't get me wrong a rattle can be ok on small parts but for best results the spray gun is king
