Coming home from the 2 till 10 shift, noticed cars queuing at the local petrol station thought nothing of it, until looking on the sky news website about the tanker drivers strike.

Does anyone think the pumps will dry up?

 

No queue at lunch time although only 2 unleaded pumps were in use

 

The pumps won't dry up with 500 drivers being out of action! The only way they'd run dry is due to the morons panic buying!

Shame I've got to work in Cambridge then travel up north every week, to earn a crust !!

Maybe the morons are the one's going on strike ???

 

most of us lot should be ok, i mean how many reps/taxi drivers/old dodderers/other professional drivers etc actually buy v-power?

lots of enthusiast drivers who use v-power have a hack during the week and their weekend toy, well except me i can imagine there will be ques, but i would be suprised if the good sh*t dries up beofre tomorrow morning/late tonight when i go for some go-go juice.

 

are the drivers on strike not part of the shell group? I thought it was mainly aimed at shell garages?

 

Shell do not directly employ the drivers, this is something that happened a few years ago.

Shell sold off the delivery network inc all the vehicles to a 3rd party.

 

Sorry, I haven't really looked into it I just read yesterday briefly in The Daily Mail and it said the drivers are supposed to be supplying shell garages and other garages would probably follow suit

Yes by me, filled both our cars yesterday, today I'll fill the scoob and my FJR, should be good for 2.5k miles in one vehicle or another

It's only affecting Shell and said to be 1 in 10 garages.

Don't plan on any driving this w/end anyway. Time to just laugh at the muppets queueing and filling cans.

 

it will affect more than shell as a lot of the companies get their fuels from the same refineries/loading points. Texaco is another company that will be affected and someone has already mentioned they are liminiting it.

I have been informed that for fuel supermarkets will be the best bet as they wont be affected (asda and morrisons, dont know about tesco)

Only problem with that is it is $hite fuel for a scoob

bit of a pisser for performance cars that need higher ron fuel, but why is the press going all doom and gloom? there's plenty of other places to buy fuel FFS!!

call me sceptical but they announce a fall in trade at the pumps then have a fool proof plan to get the sheep lining up to drain the forecourts

i'm fully gassed up and off on hols down to devon on monday, if i can't get anything down there i've already told my boss i'll be having an extended break more golf, what a blow

 

dead right mate they work for hoyer same as me except i work for the esso contract

 

yer nice one mate were trying not to get ****ed over money wise just like everyone else with rising fuel costs, cost of living etc etc take a look at the bigger picture next time before you make stupid comments

i rode to work this morning and nul was 114.9 came home it was 115.9 at same garage

 

Its all because they want £39k a year isn't it? I'm in the wrong trade.

 

Probably not a good time to travel 125miles each way to pick up my new scooby

 

must be more then that mate i earnt over 40k last tax year and dropped loads of overtime although im on a different contract maybe they want that as basic
