Default Bloody referees!!!!

It was an untidy tackle by Jenas but he did get some of the ball and he certainly didn't deserve a red card!

Will he also get a 3 match suspension!!!!

Silly season as usual in the first month. Not a good tackle but not terrible (certainly not as bad as Campo's!!) in that it wasn't two footed. A Yellow and a talking to would have been right. I think the way Gilberto fell made it look worse. I'm still not sure how much the ref saw because there where 2 or 3 players inhis line of sight for a fraction of a second. may have made it look worse.

PS I hate the camera angle at Highbury!

Was a f**king ridiculous decision, he didn't tackle high or with two feet was a yellow card offence no doubt but it has totally spoilt the game and our chances. Compare it with Campo's challenge in which he didn't even get booked yesterday

We had played much better than I was expecting and the midfield looked strong until that moment.

Steve Bennet is a tw@t and he'll not take back the decision if we appeal the ban...

Mind you Ambrose must have thought he was still playing for the Toon yesterday against the Mackems.

Defo sending off there, nasty tackle and well done Charlton

It gets even worse, the ref couldn't even see the tackle as he had players obscuring his view!!!!!!!!

Game over. silly challenge in the area. Up to then Newcastle defended like Trojans. The sending off ended it as contest though.

Think we looked stronger in midfield and certianly didn't come to Highbury and play like Bolton/Birmingham/Boro/Blackburn etc and stick 10 men behind the ball from the off.

Viera's presence seemed a big miss 11 v 11 and I think we played some good football and edged the midfield battle up untill sending off.

Dyer didn't look anywhere near 100% fit and I'm suprised he played so long, Parker would've been MOTM if Arsenal didn't score and he hasn't even had much match practice.

Some positives to take as a Toon fan even though the score line suggests otherwise as was expecting an easy 3-0 win for the ****.

Looking at the replays I think the penatly was a fortunate decision aswell so 2 bad refereeing decision cost us the game

Lets hope do we get Owen though as we're desperate for a pacy goalscoring striker and think it'll make a big difference

er..........no, er, sh*te, digging big hole!. I`m just suprised no police/stewards went to get him, they just let him get on with it!, then, eventually, they hancuffed him, probably in case he had a concealed weapon!!. He got a standing ovation though!

PS, Ref was the best ever!, player sent off, and a penalty, we needed that help today.

Held our own very well even when Jenas was sent off.(If there was a case of a ref being a thick **** blind with questionable parentage, Bennent was that man)

Second half was none stop pressure but for the heroics of Given.
Then, as per usual, last 10 minutes and it went **** up
At least its out of the way.

Edited to say SOUNESS OUT

Was at the game................... Red card wasn't deserved......... , but the penalty , what do expect when he fell all over him in the box.....

The streaker was bl**dy hilarious and was on for minutes, doing a 2 splits next to henry, then taking a bow to the North Bank after dancing around. No Steward or Copper wnated to get near him...

Another memorable moment in the 1st half was Bower trying to get to a ball
near the corner flag and just keep going towards the crowd with a huge smile on his face.... good humoured bloke today

all in good win for us

J

Shamelessly stolen from nufc.com

This is just the latest episode in Bennett's chequered history of officiating Newcastle matches:

Nov 2000: Didn't dismiss Birmingham City's Ian Bennett after bringing down Alan Shearer as he rounded the 'keeper.

Jan 2001: Sent off two Newcastle players at White Hart Lane as we lost 4-2, Bennett also awarding two dubious Spurs penalties.

Nov 2003: Failed to award a penalty at Molineux as ex-mackem Craddock handled a cross in the box.

Aug 2004: Didn't spot Boro's Hasselbaink handle the ball into the net for a late equaliser at the Riverside.

Aug 2005: Rivalled foolish colleague Rennie's sending off of Shearer with an unbelievable red card for Jenas. Dubious late penalty given against N'Zogbia.

Sending off downgraded to a yellow!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...ed/4153130.stm

Thought it was good performance by Newcastle yesterday, just need another striker, looked a bit lightweight up front.

Can't see how getting Souness out will help though!

Who you gonna replace him with?

Doesn't really do us any good now. The fa should send steve bennet to specsavers cos the thick **** certainly needs some glasses. There was a chance in hell that it was a penalty, ljundberg(sp) had swung and missed the ball and promptly fell over from very little contact from charles nzobia(sp).

There were some positives to be had from the game, especially since I expected us to get slaughtered when JJ got sent off.

Big Al for manager?
