vulnax999 17 July 2004, 23:10 Got 2 large T's but no small ones.
Tone Loc - did you get 2 each of a large and a small can connector? One for each size of hose. I did. Same problem with hose, also was badly kinked but running if for 2 days has straightened it out ( heat I guess. )
I too will be buying longer hose for a decent proper install, currently plugged into ends of pipes at inlet pipe to catch can, vent to atmos, used a bit of hose to join the2 inlet pipe holes!
Not sure who useful mounting bracket is!
Any hope of some bungs for the 2 inlet pipe holes please?
Can is Ok though, and for the price a good shot!
vulnax999 17 July 2004, 23:13 erm well all i have was 1 small one as pikky per kit if that means i'm missing 4 big & 2 small then bring it on...although anyone wana throw me a bone as to where they need to go then as i still cant fathom where they're needed with the previous drawing?
Cheers
Si
On standard car there are 2 hoses going into the air inlet before the turbo about 12mm and 15 mm - 1 of each. The larger one is crankcase vent, smaller ( hard plastic for last 12 incheson mine ) is the combined cam covre vents.
Join these 2 hoses using a T and send to 1 connector on can. Other can connector either vert to amos the clean ( but likely part burnt air? ) or pipe back to one of the 2 holes you now have on the inlet. Block other hole on inlet.
Mount can somewhere
Done!
toxwaz 19 July 2004, 16:03 only got 1 small and 1 large t piece in mine, not sure how many i should have is it 2 of each?could u paste me on the list for one of each if poss? thanx mark

I would NOT tee the cam cover breather and crankcase together. The reason is for the most part the crankcase vents air (nice dirty oilly stuff) and the cam cover breather takes IN air to replace the air from the crankcase. So if you tee them together before the catch can there is a possiblity you will be recirculating the air around the tee and the catch can will be just a shinny pretty thing doing nothing!
I would take the crankcase to the can and either leave the cam cover breather as is or have it open to atmos via a small K+N. Or drill nad tap another input to the catch can.
Tony.
Tone Loc 19 July 2004, 20:13 PS i got two tees... both big i think. Both will sit on the shelf for a rainy day ;)
Tony.
TimDave25 19 July 2004, 21:21 Appologes for the mix up with t-bits. The supplier has said he will sort them out once we all know what we need.
Please remember this is a univeral catch can kit and it is imposible to guess how much hose each person will want to use. It depends on where you mount the can etc.
I have been doing some planning and made a little trip to B&Q... If anyone is looking for extra hose, more t-pieces, alu pipe then B&Q have it all...
Alu tube = £2.60
Poly Tubing = £2.31 per meter
Poly Tubing Connectors (aka T-pieces) = £3 for two
Hose Clips = £6.26 for 20
This will give me enough parts to fit two cantch tanks with all ends connected up (not to atmospher)
I will be fitting my can as soon as I find some time to do a propper job and take pics for everyone.
Cheers,
Tim
MadGrip 19 July 2004, 21:37 I found these pics of a catch can install the other day

vulnax999 20 July 2004, 00:22 Found some plugs for the inlet pipe now. Not sure how many I can get or how much each they are but could be useful. I'll try and put up a pic tomorrow!
Update : The plugs are called Suba seal, used in labs for sealing glassware for needle injections.
Seal tightly and fit well, size 33 and 24 I got fit the 2 holes just nice, clipped the roll back double seal to make extra sure they are air tight.

Ste.
Tim, I misread the post. I though people were asking what they got with their kit. I have 2 large T's. Won't know if I require any more until I come to fit it, at which time I will pay B&Q a vist if need be.
Sorry for the mix up.
Cheers for putting this together.

RB5108 22 July 2004, 16:55 Got mine today :) but have no T's in the kit :( can you send whatever I need to fit the kit.
Rgds, Bryan
PS nice and bling ;)
rooky1 22 July 2004, 19:24 got mine today but no T's for 2 kits.
cheers paul
Tone Loc 24 July 2004, 19:01 Spent the day looking around the local B+Q Superstore for some 15mm tubing like what is supplied with the kit.....nothing. Asked them too and they looked at me as if i was stupid. They had some reals of blue and green stuff @ £10
I can get some 15mm from Demon Tweeks etc but that with postage will set me back near £10 too..... i really thought this was descibed as a full kit for the Impreza. So we have a 15mm cankcase breather and are supplied with 12mm hose  . I could try to force it on but it's hard enough trying to get it on the 12mm tails on the can.
Not impressed really..... we could have been warned that extra expense was needed and it was NOT a full kit for the scooby. Not a gripe at you Tim as you have done a great job of organising.
Tony.
rooferman 25 July 2004, 12:16 Has anyone fitted theirs yet?I,m not sure where to mount it let alone how to connect it............pics would help.
MadGrip 25 July 2004, 12:43 also another note that the cans have no baffles which we were told there would be. Again not a go at you Tim but I wouldn't use this supplier again
coulty 25 July 2004, 16:43 also another note that the cans have no baffles which we were told there would be. Again not a go at you Tim but I wouldn't use this supplier again
Was the supplier in the end Scoty? I also never got enough t-pieces or hose to do my car.
Cheers
Stuart :)
