Unforseen circumstances have caused me to consider selling this car which most (if not all) of you know, is ONE OF THE BEST RB5's around. Period.

The car is pretty famous in Impreza circles, and I am extremely proud to own it.

The car currently has 38K miles on the clock and a full Subaru Service History.
The service book has 9 (yes, nine) main dealer stamps as this car has been pampered beyond belief. (60K service has been done - biggie! ;))

The car was MOT'd for a year last month. (failed on a number plate bulb! ;))

The reason I am considering selling is, that I have just had (short) notice that I will be going under the knife on the 13th May and won't be able to drive this, or any other car for up to 6 months. :(

The tax is up at the end of May, so I toyed with SORN-ing the car at that time, and taking it off the road for the 6 months of my recovery.

However, as my fiancee points out.... "with a wedding to pay for, we could do without the expense of a car that isn't getting used" and I have to admit, she is quite right. :rolleyes:

All that aside, if someone else can get the enjoyment from this car, then I'll be happy.

Price
I've checked the used RB5 situation and the prices can vary quite considerably.
Subaru.co.uk have 2 at present, both higher miles, neither WR Sport versions for £14.5k and £15k respectively.
Some private high mileage examples have sold for as little as £10k-£11k.

For the car, I don't expect to take a loss so I'd be looking for £14,295 which I'm sure you'll agree is a well fair price considering the condition/history/mods etc etc.

If any of you are interested, then I'm willing to talk money, but only if we are on the same playing field. ;)

If not, I'll simply SORN it and keep her for when I recover.

Please, no requests to split anything! If the car doesn't sell whole, then I'll be keeping her, and I want her with all her bits intact! :D

Sorry to hear about the op. I hope its not too serious. Shame you have to sell it.

Bit of advice: you will probably get the usual timewasting emails from here, so advertise elsewhere. Since it is sooo clean, I would suggest perhaps swallowing a £50 bill and advertising in the Sunday Times perhaps, and deffinately Top Marques. Good free sites if you haven't already tried are Pistonheads and Findit.co.uk. You may even wish to try ebaymotors.co.uk for an auction, as that is a seriously desireable motor that should fetch a good price. If you do that, set a reserve price, choose a long auction that ends on, say, a Sunday evening around 7.30 pm for maximum exposure, and start the bidding at around £10,000.

Whoever buys ole' 378 is most definately NOT going to be dissapointed.

Any prospective owners need not worry that this car has led one hell of a pampered life,as the previous owner,I can at least tell you that she had fresh
Castrol RS oil every 3.5k.,was garaged at night and has absolutely no faults whatsoever .....not to mention costing me a bluddy fortune in Swissol polish;):D

just out of curiosity, i have looked at your website (very sophisticated) at it says that the car has done "The cars current mileage is 39,000 miles and it has been serviced religiously. So much so, it has 9 service stamps in the book, including the "big" 60k service"
...So if the RB5 has only done 39K why would it need the 60K service 20K eariler?

Its done on mileage OR timescale which ever comes first. Hence the early service ;)

4 - 24 months OR 30,000 miles

As you can see, a 3 year old car with 45,000 miles should have 6 service stamps.
Even a 5 year old car with 10,000 miles should still have 10 service stamps! :eek:

Have you thought of ebay? Some WRX's etc on there over £20K. I know it can be a pain in the ar5e on there but some serious money changes hands.

I've advertised cars on eBay before and never been that impressed with it tbh.....

Plus, I know this sounds cheesy, but I'd much rather this car went to someone on SN or SIDC as it's condition is too good to waste on a possible "non-enthusiast"

Yeah I know what you mean. Money ain't everything. I have been looking for a Sport estate on there and other places. The ones on ebay all seem a million miles from where I live and high mileage or not FSH.
