Lookin for some local info, going up to Aviemore for the New Year and a few of us are taking the bikes up, does anyone know where to go or where to find route maps etc for good off-road trails in the area. (dont want to travel too far away from Aviemore).
Nothing too hard ;) probably around red run difficulty.
Any info appreciated

Theres a shop in the middle of the main street called Bothy Bikes who sell and hire out MTB's who will be able I would think to sort you out with all the info you need, its a real enthusiasts kind of shop so would imagine they will be friendly towards a fellow biker,

Is the DH open at Fort William this time of year?
I was on the mountain last New Year but don't recall any bikes going up on the gondola.
Need to get the Specialized Epic Disc dirty soon!!!

The DH course is IMMENSE - especially the man made bit at the end. I did it on a hardtail which was scary but fun. Jacked it in after the 6th run due to extensive bicep spasms :(
Good fun watchin'others bombin' down the hill whilst your on the gondola.....
We ought to do a Scoobynet meet here in summer.......half a day's cyling then a couple hours canin' it up north ! Chamone

Cal, the other half's brother is well into his mountain biking and goes to Fort William quite a lot. He got this Santa Cruz V10 frame and has spent over £4k  on the complete bike. He also has another complete Santa Cruz bike that he is now going to lend me ;)
Might have to meet up for a blast down there sometime.
