Or shall I change?

I dont think S03s have ever been considered good tyres. They are average road tyres with soft sidewalls.

Yokohama Ao32R, Bridgestone 540, Dunlop D01J etc are good tyres.

They are right! Had SO3's on my UK 99 Scooby after superb SO2 PP's. They are the pits. Now have an STi V3 running on Toyo's. Toyo's are about the equal of the SO2's at a fraction of the cost. Go for the Toyo's!

I had the superb SO2s on my STi4 and at that time the only alternative worth considering was Toyo Proxes T1s.
I have just fitted a set of said Toyos in the absence of SO2s due to the bad press SO3s received and I have to say that so far they are a great tyre with a very similar feel to the SO2s.
A couple of years back it was a straight race between Toyos and SO2s although I don't profess to be an expert on tyre manufacture.

I think that the Toyos have the same progressive compound as the old SO2s, i.e. the more they wear, the firmer the compound gets.
Rate of wear is going to depend on tyre pressure and driving style but I think its a good idea to swap the fronts and rears periodically and even left and right if you can find the time to have them taken off the rims.
