The mag reviews put it in the same class as McRae3 but says both games have different flaws.

Playing it last night, and I was very impressed with the graphics, although I found the analogue control too sensitive on the Subaru.

Must have a proper play today!

That should read

Finish stage -> pick up Stella -> drink Stella -> put Stella down -> load

Played a demo on PS2. Total bag 'o' sh!te.

Handling is way off the mark, the car flies around all over the place. The final version best be better than that.

Would tend to agree with DJ Dunk on that one, I played the CM3 and WRCII demos, and although CM3 didn't look as good as WRCII, it seemed to play better.

Thumbs up

Well I have completed four rallies now and I must say I prefer it to CM3. The cars handle differently to CM3 but you get used to it, I am not sure which has the most realistic feel as I have never driven a real rally but they both drive very well in their own particular ways. CM3 is easier to drive IMO but WRC II is more rewarding, the different road surfaces make more of an impact in WRC II especially in Cyprus which is a nightmare. WRC II is more of a complete game, you do every rally in the championship and drive for whichever team you like.

What we need now is a mix of them both, the driving style of CM3 and the rest from WRC II. For now it's WRC II for me. By the way Colin M is not in WRC II.

Si.

imho cm3 feels like your floating a sea of super smooth glass.... thats when its on a gravel course!!!

wrc2 seems far better and more exploitable to me..

just an opinion.

dont go on the demo of wrc II , those were not the final physics, WRC II has the better physics IMHO, you actually feel the surface your driving on, and the road is more bumpy and so on and has the most detailed road surface ever seen in a game, Colin Mcrae is good in the pick up and play sense but once you play WRC II on expert mode you will appreciate the sim it is, as the handling is more advanced and other options, just my 2 cents, they both have there faults but WRC is more complete and like some1 mentioned has an offical license, with offical drivers and stages, although they have been shortened down, apparently there are landmarks in the stage that are there in real life, and no bit looks the same, so if you are a rally nut go for WRC 2 , more of a casual player try CM3, You must play these on a wheel to appreciate how good they really are

the loading times on WRC II are pretty dam good in my opinion, the only annoying thing about this game is the walls and rails they seem to spin you round mystically 180 degrees, quite annoying, other than that its excellent

Sillisi,

<quote>I am not sure which has the most realistic feel as I have never driven a real rally</quote>

I have driven rally cars, (although not in competition), and can confirm that neither game feels anything like driving in a rally car. So I guess you just pick the one that you like best, just enjoy it for what it is, and don't expect it to be too realistic
