No, he phoned today saying that he needed the car tomorrow, he is going on holiday (hence the rush with ordering) so he is trying to clear some other bits up, its going in first thing tomorrow morning for SURE cos i've already arranged to go down there, any time after that, for some reason he wants the car until Friday morning to make sure that the adhesive stuff has dried ok, weird!

What, he's not gluing to the boot as well is he?

yeah, why? everyone said that it needs the normal bolts as well as something to stick the middle down to keep it secure from rattling!

Reason I say this is because that from the factory no spoilers are bonded to the boot and Paul advised me their would be no problem using the existing fixings etc, because the factory item has some sort of padding to cushion any vibration.
What if you want to take it off, say when you sell the car and want to put back the original spoiler, and sell the aftermarket one seperately?( the glue could make a right mess of the boot!!)

well the body shop guy says it'll come off without a problem, the spoiler from TSL exhibited no such padding, it'll come off ok!

BTW, just had a look at the spoiler when I dropped the car off, looks fantastic, really nice! btw it had 2 cracks in it which my guy had to sand down and rebuild. Looks very professional now though!

well if the muppet wasnt insisting on keeping it over night then i would post 2nite, gonna have to be tomorrow morning now, maybe when he phoned 2nite i'll ask why it cant be drying outside my house cos i doubt it will rain and I dont plan on going very fast or far, just drive it home.

BTW nobody could give me a lift back from the bodyshop so I just walked for like an hour, madness! good exercise, saw a green scooby, wanted to wave but woulda looked daft on foot! forgot my subaru hat!!!

just realised that since he has stuck it on I cant change the light if it goes wrong! luckily they are independant LED's and should be ok! Its quite annoying really, he advised that it be stuck down and I said yes only if it could be removed again yet when I picked it up he said I couldnt remove it without damaging the spoiler! grr!

Just spoke to Paul, they were not happy about the finish on some of the spoilers, so they have all been repainted. Will be with us on Monday(I hope):)

Hi Guys

sorry i haven't had much time to get on Scoobynet and read this thread more.. but as you know, I am always at the end of a phone if you need me :)

I wanted all the spoilers to go out together.. this is for two reasons. a. you will all get them together. b. As we are working for reducd margins it is not in all honesty cost effective to make five or six seperate half hour round trips to pick each one up individually :)

Two of the spoilers weren't in the opinion of our bodyshop manager good enough to go.. so they didn't. They are being completely repainted at our expense :)

The money will have left everyones account at the precise moment that we took all the spoilers to the bodyshop. We have a company policy not to take any payments until goods are literally ready to board the van out. Painted products are obviously the exception. If we are painting something specifically in a colour for someone we will take payment first...and we did say this on the phone. That way if you decide half way through painting that it's not for you, we don't get stuck with a ready painted spoiler that we may not easily resell. :)

Unfortunately, they arrived just too late to be properly packed and wrapped and sent out today. This will be done first thing monday. My sincere apologies for the delay. but i will not compromise on paint quality just to meet a deadline. All decent bodyshops book at least a week ahead so I am extremely grateful to them for pulling all these spoilers in for us ahead of other work . Thanks guys :)

In all honesty would have been much, much happier to supply these unpainted. So much less hassle. But if we are putting our name to it I am deadly serious about how they look when they leave

Hope this helps

Cheers

Paul

Point well made, it ensures that you guys remain well respected and that everyone who ordered painted spoilers gets them in A1 condition.

Without sounding like an arse, Stevie Wonder could have fitted this spoiler whilst he was pi55ed. Why all this blah did a great job fitting my spoiler nonsense.:)
