Hi all,

Ive a member of the UK MKIV supra club and a dude on there has a GTR which he's tunned to over 1000bhp. He wrote a thread about it, all the pitfalls and costs etc etc. He's a car importer and has some great contacts over in JAE.

http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthr...&highlight=JUN

Take a look, amazing thread and great pics.

There's a similar thread on the GTR forum:

http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/136527-jm...g-project.html

I watched this thread with interest over the past year or so and it's one of the reasons I am where I am with GTR ordered. Glad to see JUN standing by the customer and supplying him a new strenghened engine

Too good

Cant stop grinning.... had lunch with a mate and dropped him off back at work (I used to work there) and loads of my old work mates and manager saw the car.... good thing "Scarlett" (named after Scarlett Johansson ) had just been washed, their faces were priceless!!!

Cant stop grinning.... goes so well up to just over 4000 then I let off and only in 4th gear so far... and only part throttle, I have yet to put my foot flat

She's a beauty.

It was the low down grunt that amazed me, driving a 2l for the last seven years. When I tested save mode, the car was chaning gear about 1400rpm there's so much low down torque.

Still waiting for my number plate

Oh yes she is.... both Scarletts

In sad fashion, my only complaints are minor silly little things...
*the beeping when reversing
*the silver gear surround - reflects sunlight badly
*the heat from the exhaust inbetween the seats

Car is more than likely going to MAGIC for the carbon wrap dash
Want to install a reversing camera (and hopefully get them to stop the beeping)
Custom plate to follow shortly still to decide on one, but dont want to spend a fortune... current looks like "MILF"

Finally...someone paid the Internet host bill, lol

Agreed reversing beep is pointless, if you aren't aware the car's in reverse you shouldn't be behind the wheel. And it's not a bus.

Didn't notice heat between the seats on my test drive.

My complaints on the test drive were:

exhaust too quiet
can't hear turbo's
reversing beep
rear view mirror (someone said this can be adjusted, which the squaler didn't know)

I've never been in to plates, but I spotted one I might buy for a laugh.

I've never named my cars, it's a machine and needs to be treated that way. Graham will spend too much time appologising 'sorry love' to the car, lol

About time

I did not notice the heat between the seats until I got my car, apparently its the exhaust (and Ypipe).

Whats the power button on the mirror?

I think its time to go for a ride with my "love"

When I bought the Scoob I took a few days off work and drove from Kingston to M25 via A243, around to J7 down A23 to Croydon and back again. This was a good mix of stop start and motorway higher speed. Took a few days but hit 1000 miles quicky.

It's the dealer assiged one for the time being which I need for a parking permit. I'll think about the custom plate for a while, never had one before and sure I want one yet!

I see... same deal for me... but the fact that my current one looks like "MILF" I think I need to change it.

a friend has one of the 11 plates, he also had the 10 palte version,

the new tyres are circa £600 each and only one availble at eh moment, like wise fluids are silly money too.

the silver version they did on the 10 plate car is also £600 per litre so bare that in mind haha

First of all the only rule with performance cars is....you pay to play

Second with the GTR you don't pay as much as what you are making out, I got a full set of Bridgestones fitted for less than a grand! Fluids aren't silly money, the only surprise cost could be if you cook the transmission fluid (in excess of 120degrees) and then you put your hand in your pocket for about £500-600 depending if you replace with official oem fluid or arguably better 3rd party....

I have a silver car, however I didn't pay the £1500 odd option cost for it as it was bundled in the price with cars ordered prior to release.....with 500/600 bhp under your right foot, let me assure you the price of paint is the last thing on your mind.....that and mine is wrapped matte

Please scurry back to whichever rock you crawled out of and take your misinformed information with you.

Constructive post

I paid an extra £499 for three years servicing, so as Alloy says as long as I don't cook the fluids that sounds good to me. Less than I pay for the Scooby servicing...

If the standard Dunlop tyres are great and cost £600 a corner so be it. If you buy a super car who expects running costs to be the same as fiesta or nissan micra!?

Some what knew that servicing was not going to be cheap! Compare it to Aston, Ferrari, Lambo, etc.... they use very specialist components, fluids, etc. Happy to accept that for what the car is and what it delivers

wow shoot a guy down,

the information i was given was from a high posting memeber on the gtr owners club, a very well know and respected guy, i should of said the expensive tyre was for the new 2011 model car where they revised the design of the wheels and they had to develop a new tyre, which i was told can officially be bought through nissan, i know this as he got a nail in his after a few weeks and needed to replace the tyre.

he also uses a higher grade gearbox oil as he take the car out on track,

regarding the colour it was actually the paint company that told me, as i needed to price a job up that had been cocked up by some one due to not using the correct colour

wow what an arsey forum,
