Splitting front brembos?
Hey chaps,
How difficult is the above? I've just replaced discs and pads on the front of my blob STI and the pads are sticking a little due to the build up of oxidisation behind the little stainless steel plates which the pads sit on, I was able to remove a few of the plates to sand behind them but the couple causing problems will need attacking with the callipers split.
Also with there only being one hose going to the calliper how does the oil get from the inner piston to the outside piston? Is there an O ring between the calliper halfs or something? Forgive me if I'm being daft on this one as I didn't pay much attention when I was messing with the calliper
Many thanks
Mick

Yes it is easy enough to split them , at the bottom of the caliper where the two halves join there is a rubber 'O' ring as it has a fluid way to feed fluid to the outer half of the caliper , just make sure you don't lose it when splitting them , and make sure it goes back in place when bolting them back together
