Brake Pads for MY10 WRX STI????
People
Will soon need new brake pads for my 2010 WRX sti sedan - Subaru quoted silly money but an independent recommend Ferodo's - all in £234 for the fronts.
He said Ferodo are accepted by Subaru, so warranty wise, it would be unaffected.
Any ideas on Ferodo pads and /or other makes available.
Thanks

can supply ds2500's at a better price than you have quoted but if thats the type of thing your after then the newer Brembo Sport material are much better value for money and slightly more refined
a lot depends on how hard/aggressive on the brakes you are as OEM / genuine Brembo pads can be supplied for far less again

Hi
Well i have read DS2500's are a bit noisy and more track orientated, i do a lot of normal ish miles a year as well, so are the Brembo's a better choice? I do 2 or 3 track days a year as a rule.
So what would be better for my world?

Brembo Sport is more refined in that case then (as well as cheaper)
neither are what i would describe as "track" pads though although they will stand up to some spirited use - PFC z-rated is a good option if you want something more track biased
all available from stock, simply contact the office to sort

Its doing track days that will make a big difference in getting the right pad , our biggest seller is this set up
http://www.godspeedbrakes.co.uk/~god...id_product=131
But these pads would not really be suitable for hard track use , some have taken them on the track and driven at 5/10ths and they have been ok , hard track use would see them fade.
We can offer you our grooved discs and PF Z rated pads for £199 a set of fronts , or discs with Ferodo DS2500's for £299 , or with Orangestuff for £259.
We sell all makes of pads , changing the discs or pads would not affect your warranty , as brakes are not covered by one
Cheers Ian

If you want something that is good in both cold, fast road and occasional track use I would use the Pagid RS-15 Grey

Just look at the friction level specs and compare with others and you won't go wrong.
They are not the cheapest ones out there but worth it IMHO.
I had DS2500 in a previous car and they were OK when warm but I didn't like the cold performance, they also squeaked. And that was in a much more lightweight car then the Subaru.
