Default Wheels rubbing

Hi guys just bought a scooby, which as got 18" wheels on problem is the tyres have been rubbing on the arches.
The question is is there anything I can do to stop this with out modding the arches on my 1998 model scoob.

Thanks

As tony has said width of tyre and is your car lowered has a great affect on a car wether they fit properly or not,if you definitely want to run those wheels Get your arches rolled if you want to run 18 without rubbing on a classic,my wife had 18 on her car but we both found out it did not handle properly as good as when the car had 17 fitted so she changed back to 17 inch wheels and has never looked back.SJ.

The size are 225 45 18, I think the car is running std suspension. I think I might see about dropping down to 17 " . Like I say only had the car a few days just wanted to see what options were available to me.

Those tyres are humongous...the accepted size for SEVENTEENS is 215/40, so those are at least two "stops" over.

they are going to rub, plus your speedo will be way out.

Correction they are 225 40 18, but yeah I thought they may be a bit big. Think I will look at getting some 17" for her.
