Knocking noise when braking, only going forwards, getting worse
Not sure video is the best but it may help?
UK classic '99
Ksport 8pot front brakes

Noticed some play in the disc on the hub but presumed it is normal and the wheel would pin it tight to the hub? Is that normal or could that be it?

Hi. Is it a single knock or knocking all the time ?
I don't know about Ksport calipers but with Subaru 4 pots its a very common thing.
Basically, people putting those anti rattle plates upside down which causing pads knocking in the caliper.

Sussed it

It is the silver metal clips that sit either side of the brake pad knocking against the caliper when applying the brake
Stripped it down, removed clip and reshaped it slightly so it was tighter to the caliper, noise gone
