Hi guys,

I’ve looked on here for a while now and recently joined looking for some good advice.

I have had my 2005 STI for 2 years now. Around a year ago I replaced all the brake parts with up-rated kit.

Things changed at the same time –

4 x Brembo Sport discs

Brembo HP sport pads all round

S/S brake lines

Brakes all bought from AS performance

BC racing coil overs

Also the handbrake was tightened up a bit.

Now this has happened since the day I got the car back and it still going on, I returned the car after a couple of weeks to the guy who did the work. He then checked everything and said it was all OK. He was a local guy I used a lot so trusted.

The issue being this – Every time I start driving the car after about 15 mins or so, when pulling away from lights, slowing down, and just general slow driving (20mph or less) I get this high pitched squeaking. It seems to go with the tyre rotation and you would think the disc was warped but like I said it was doing this after I got the car back and delivered to me, about 30 miles. It happens when NOT pressing the brake pedal and as soon as I do press it stops .

I can see copper grease on the back of the pads just looking through the wheels.

I’ve lived with this for a while but now do a lot of town driving since moving house and its putting me off using this car..

Sorry for the long read but I tried to get everything in that I hope will help.

Cheers,
Martin

theres not a stone or something stuck between the disc and the splash guard at the back?
Had that happen to me before on my Classic, squeeked at low speeds but was gone at higher speed.

it could be either of these but as i said the mechanic had it back and said all was good.. cant figure it out, might have to try another garage as i have since moved house.

It does only happen once the brakes are warmed though...
