Default Do I need to Change my wheels or just tyres?

I bought some XXR 527 wheels for my sidetrack blob sti. Absolutely love the wheels, got 235/40/18 Pirelli road track wheels on... It's the widetrack model so no way of rolling arches, if grinded out the lip a little and had fast road set up with CUPRAJAKE on BC coil overs but carnt drive the car how I want to with tyres catching,

Any help would be much appreciated wanting to get car to OULTON Park bit carnt atm

Thanks Ryan

Can you put any more camber on the bc's, where are they catching...on the rears?

You could get the lip on the underside of the arch flattened but might make no difference, When you look at the top of the tyre/wheel is it sitting directly under the arch...If it is it's gonna need more camber or a wheel swap to get it to sit in the arch.

Yeah could put more camber on but don't want to put too much... Could it affect handling with to much camber? Think you have same tyres mate off rob day?... Very high side wall on them.. It's not sitting directly but when go around corner or round about not aggressive it still catches, have dampers on BC set 2/3rds hard... Worth put thing them harder?

Changed wheels since

Managed to get another set of 17" BBS's with toyo R1R's on so I can use a road set and a play set on the same rim with different rubber as I hated the feel of the car with 18"s on.

Problem with setting them harder is it will stiffen them up but won't really help with the cornering as you will still get body roll with enthusiastic cornering

The tyres are the problem lol.

I'm running 8.5 rota with 235/40 and needed to camber the rears in.

It's not going to make a noticeable difference bud.

More camber will/can give you better clearance and better handling if you running wider wheels combo

If you lowering car please consider Roll centre/bump steer mod, will transform driving on yours like on our one

Got a rear adjustable arb to go on....
Would love some rota drifts with a deep offset on them
Looks like I'm changing the tyres first then lol

The offset/ET will make a huge difference on where they sit on the car.

http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Wheel...ulator#Results

I find this useful. Put the top figure as a size you KNOW fits nice and then type in the bottom, sizes you consider and see what effect it will have on how it sits on the car
