should I be worried about brakes?

After getting front brakes/discs changed under warrenty 3k miles ago its come back (actually it never really went away) accompaanied by a frankly embarrasing sqealling noise when braking whilst reversing.
Funny thing is it goes away (the scraping noise) a bit after the car has done some distance.
I'd consider my driving style to be progressive but not bonkers and I don't drive really on the brakes...
It's dures for its 22,500 service next week at 18,500 miles...suggestions to get them to have a look at apart from the obvious?

ME TOO
I had my front pads and discs replaced at 30,000km and then the noise started. In reverse its an absolute joke as they squeel so much. Now when i come to a stop in forward the squeel for a split second. Not acceptable.
I have dropped the rex in for its 37,500km service and have pointed this out to them. Hopefully they can fix it for me.
I'll keep you posted.

Just picked up the REX..
Brake squeel is gone...they assure me...
They 100% assure me that there is no brake squeel at all in reverse (5kmh).
I drive away...
Pull up...
let it roll back a bit..apply brakes...
SQUEEL........the ****** probably didnt even test the car..
Ive yelled black & blue but i still now have to go back and leave the car therre again.
MORONS!!

Dont think it will help but I will mention it anyway.
Had problems with sqeeling on a Bike at low speed, someone suggested some of that copper grease stuff (cant remember the correct name) on the BACK! of the pads before fitting them in the caliper & it worked. Aparently because the pads could move in the caliper slightly they would cause a noise to be generated at low speed when breaking gently, there was no noise under heavy breaking.

My MY02 WRX has been in twice to have the brakes stripped. It still squeals like a pig on v gentle braking to a stop. I haven't given up yet....Car is 7 weeks old. This fault's been here from the start. The dealer has now said the only way to cure it is for ME to pay for new pads!! Looks like things are going to be unpleasant between myself and dealer, but I'm not about to give up as they should be right on a 20k+ car. (on any new car for that matter).

If you do have to buy new pads, we have Pagid RS42-1 pads in stock for the STi.
Night and day to what you are used to, plus very low dust levels and no noise.
