Default Time to change pads need some Help

Hi Guys,

I need to change the pads on my Blobeye STI, Have ordered them from Alyn at ASPerformance.

I have D2 8 Pots on the front and not sure if I have to wind pistons back of just push back
Have standard Brembo on rear what do I do with these wind or push back.

Any advice on changing the pads would be great, Also want to clean and lubricate them a bit and could do with some advice on this too.

Thanks guys

Dex

Pistons just push back bud on the brembo calliper's, not sure on the D2's tho sorry.

When replacing the pads on my blob Sti, I just open up the bleed nipples, connect a bit of overflow pipe to it and push back the pistons letting what ever fluid needs to be released out, I find it a lot easier, others just remove the top off the reservoir and push the callipers back with out loosing the brake fluid, although you can cause problems that way with popping seals on the servo / master cylinder ( not seen it happen on a scoob, but assume it would be the same )

I just generally give the callipers a wipe over with a bit of dry break cleaner and give them a blast with the airline to get all the shìtty bits and dust out of them, its pretty self explanatory when your in to it, but I would open the nipples on each of the callipers to push back the pistons, top up the fluid, and just open the nipples up again and let them self bleed for a minuet or 2 just to make sure no air is caught in the lines.

Don't forget to remove the locking pins from the pins holding the pads in when trying to remove them, I know it sounds daft but I've seen it done before where they have just whacked the pins out without realising that the long pins running through the pads are retained by split pins/locking pins, use a tidy punch to free the pins off and tap them out, as said its pretty straight forward when its in front of you

Hi Alyn,

I was going to ask you when I picked the pads up LOL.

Just let me know when they come in bud.

Thanks again
