17"milleniums or standard STI 16"
Right guys I'm gonna get called crazy for even posting this, but I'm only picking your brains.
I recently purchased my version 2 sti type Ra and it came with my favourite wheels 17" revolution milleniums with 17/215/40 tyres. Long story short I fitted to standard v2 sti wheels just whilst the weathers pants then drove the car steady for 2miles back to my mums. The 16s have got 16/205/50 tyres on. The car felt so much better, obviously the ride quality was vastly improved due to the higher profile. But the steering felt so much sharper and accute. Now both sets of tyres were budgets so that's neither here or there. I'm not a fan of the v2 wheels however I really like the version 3-6 sti wheels so IF I were to go 16's they would be my choice, next problem is breaks, am I correct in thinking the best I can get under these wheels are the standard 4pots as I would like better.
Don't shoot me down, I love the revolutions and I'm going to swap again back to them and see how they feel compare.
So what are your experiences of 16" vs 17" wheels ?
Joe

pretty much, (although this is based on opion i might add lol)
16's handel the best
17's are a medium between 18's and 16's so handeling isnt too bad
18's look better but handel the worst

Much prefer 16" wheels on the road.
Godspeed managed to get Boxster S monoblocs under 16's for me. Calipers are 996 351 425 & 996 351 426 (Don't mix them up with the 352's, which are rears and have smaller pistons 28/30mm)
Pistons are 36/40mm.
I took two styles of 16". One would take a 300mm rotor, the other 310mm. So it's very dependent on wheel design.
Although, I believe it's much more straight forward, with Brembo GT calipers (Clio 182 and others) and 16's
