Default Juddering under heavy braking

Hi. Im getting severe juddering from the n/s front wheel when braking hard. I would normally put this down to warped discs but i put brand new discs and pads on 8 weeks ago. Is it possible that i have warped a disc already?

I also had a small fluid leak on the same corner after fitting my braided lines (fixed now). Could this have caused an issue that is contributing to the problem?

Any advice would be great.

Brian.

They are manufactured by CRN Products of Chesterfield. They are grooved and dimpled.

Have you checked the discs for deposits from the new pads ?

How did you bed in the new discs and pads ?

I drove it steady on the road for the first hundred miles or so.
I will check the discs in the light tomoro. I can imagine that if there is a deposit on the disc that it will hinder the pads ability to make contact with the disc.

I wont lie i have stood on them from high speed a couple of times but i havnt been near a track.

8 weeks seems crazy to me.

If fitted, check the spigot is seated correctly and/or not broken.

has nothing to do with time but mileage and use involved

the majority of discs will require "reasonable" use for the first 100-200miles before gradually increasing the intensity and length of the "stop" so that they condition and settle
if you are too aggressive (or too light) in the initial stages then you can/will get issues including disc variation and deposits
pretty much the only disc out there that can be used "out of the box" is the Performance Friction as these are extensively heat-treated before leaving the factory and are 'race ready'...........

what pads do you have?? and which model/spec??

What about the calipers , its very common for these calipers to end up dragging , sticking or seizing , the chrome on the pistons come off and the pistons start to rust and stick in the calipers which then doesn't release the pads off the discs which can overheat them and warp them.

Did you fit it all yourself , if so could you move all the pistons easily ?
Also did you clean the hub face of rust and muck before fitting the new discs so they are running true.

As above check for dark patches on the discs which will indicate pad deposits which can be cleaned off

Hope this helps
Cheers Ian

Thanx for the replies guys.

When fitting i was able to push back the pistons using the old pads to spread the force over both pistons. I did this using my hands so they slid back in easily.

I also cleaned up the hubs slightly with a wire brush so they we free from debris and rust.

Is it possible that the yellowstuff pads are not up to the job and are somehow overheating the discs?
