Will 205/55/16 go on my track wheels??

Hi there!
Just wondering if 205/55/16 will fit my MY00 turbo?
its on the standard dampers and Eibach springs which lower by 20mm.
The tyres are continentals but they are cheaper than cheap and only want them to destroy on trackday!
they are not the directional type so i can swap em about easily.
Will they foul the arches and will the gearing change be noticable going up to 55s?
any advice would be appreciated!

Lee mate, they sound just the job 
Crap tyres are great for track days provided you want to slide around and not overtake too many peeps
The size will raise your gearing a fraction, but you'll never notice it. No probs.
Rubbing won't be a problem unless you're running a tight off-set wheel. ET48 is usually OK, but ET50-plus to be safe. The ET is stamped on the back of the spokes.

well have abit of fun yes but dont want to be sliding around to much!
ive got to take the family on holiday on monday mornig in the car! dont want it in the tyre wall!
The wheels are off STi5, ill check the ET.
Maybe ill have a re think!
