Hi I have a 2005 blob sti with 4pot brembos
Just put grooved disks and kavalar pad on it.. All seemed ok until I go over 80... The when I brake the whole car shakes?? Can anyone help please?
Thanks
Ryan
Have you cleaned the hub faces up of rust and dust before fitting the new discs on ?any rust left on them will cause the discs to run out of true and will cause shaking under braking
The disks were used but not done many miles... Ok with no shaking below 70mph... Thinking maybe not seated properly... What's the procedure for bedding in? Cheers
Get them to check for run out with a dial gauge. I `ve got the same problem, despite changing the calipers, discs and pads. It could be the hub, bearings or suspension bushes if not run out.
Turns out my new discs had run out, sorted by an on car skim. The hub was shiny clean, but the new discs had to have .02 mm taken off both sides, inner.
