Default Honest Brake Upgrade Advice Needed

Hi, I've currently got the standard Subaru 4 pot calipers with red-stuff pads. The calipers seem to be sticking, so could do with a refurb. I think my trip to the Nurburgring a couple of months ago was the last straw for them. I really need to upgrade them but cost is a big factor also they have got to fit under 17" wheels

I've had a few ideas but could do with some feedback from people that have used them

- Refurbed standard calipers with Godspeed 335mm disk kit

- Later Brembo's with 2 piece 326mm disks (from godspeed)

- K-sport 6pot with 304mm disks

With all options I will fit braided lines and DOT 5.1 fluid

Have you used any of these? What do ya think?

Hi there

We are running K-sport 8pots 356mm,which has been faultless for few months, with right pads are great like on the road or track. If you are thinking put them under 17" you should be OK with 330mm,not 304mm,304mm will be OK under 16".

Second thing with K-Sport are included braided lines, which is good and last bit with Brembo or OE 4pots with Godspeed 335mm you will need rebuild them on regular basis and K-Sport you don't need them

Hope this help

Cheers for the advice. I may need to run spacers so my wheels clear

I've just been looking at these
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Subaru-Imp...#ht_833wt_1037

So, with DS2500 pads it would be £1144

I would suggest Performance friction Z-Rated pads(part number is 1247.10 for K-sport 8pots)

http://www.part-box.com/product_info...ducts_id=44415

Running them for few months and really impressed with them like on track or fast road driving

Speak here to the Bren@Apex performance or Aztec Performance which are dealers here of the K-Sport

The Godspeed 335mm disks and refurb kit would work out at £650 inc VAT

Agreed price is good if you comparing them to the K-sport,but price will be much more narrower when its come to replacement of disc and refurb of callipers

Performance Friction will outperform DS2500 without the doubts,we are run before DS2500 and we are been disappointed with them, now with PF Z-Rated pads we are now very happy, braking is much improved like on the track or road from cold
