grooved ,drilled or both
#3
Drilled helps cooling, groved stops the pad glazing up. Both help to stop brake fade but groves tend to eat pads cos it effectively cuts the top surface away. A combination of both obviously helps cooling and stops glazing.
Its worth noting that both also make a hell of a noise under hard braking.

Second that I drive like a wuss and on my first track day I cracked some drilled Black Diamonds with the Subaru calipers with proper warm up/cool down not sitting on brakes in pit lane etc. The discs were not even worn and I did not manage to fade the brakes. Replaced with grooved under warranty will see how they stand up to the next round of abuse.
