warped disc

Might NOT be warped.
It could also be deposits on the disc, front, rear, or both.
I've recently had some brake judder, it turned out to be corroded discs, but my car WAS off the road for nearly a year.......
To clean off any deposits, do a few high speed brakings, start at around 40mph, increase to the legal limit and stand on the brakes. Do NOT do it on wet roads

Hi Ian
I take it from your wanted thread you have my 2 piece 335mm discs fitted , it could be something as simple as a rust build up between the discs and bells causing the disc to run out of true on the bell , take the bells off the discs and make sure all the mating surfaces are clean and corrosion free , clean them up with WD40 and emery cloth or a scotch pad.
I dont recommend using those on car discs skimmers as it could just be masking another problem
I'm coming back from holidays this weekend so can discuss it more with you Monday when I'm back in work.
It's rare for our 335mm discs to warp due to the size and thickness of them , if they are warped I can skim them for you , we take the bell off to do them so they are done right
Hope this helps
Cheers Ian

Interested in this, let me know how you get on as I think I may have similar problem. Discs and bells where unused for a year but now fitted to my car and I have severe judder from 50mph. Genuine 355mm AP Discs and bells I believe.
Sorry to jump in on your thread but it seems we are in the same boat

Just a thought but when fitted we just bent the muc gaurd away from the disc (bit of an after thought) could they be touching the disc and causing a problem. Just want to rule all options out when removing wheels etc... So I don't end up going back over old ground every day for a week.
Thanks for your help Ian... Top man

Turns out the guy who balanced the wheels was blind...... had them done again and back to just brake judder now. Ian would having you skim the discs cure the problem or would it just hide it for a while? and how much do you charge as I would sooner bring it to you and then you can check I have cleaned up the hub, bells etc to a decent standard.

I was getting to the stage that when slowly coming to a halt the car was lurching badly and it was very uncomfortable ... and at the other end of the scale when breaking hard from 'quick' the car was very unsettled and hard to handle.
I should re-emphasize the point made though that rust buildup between the hub and the disk could be your problem. Certainly it had made my alignment worse as the skimming machine couldn't even center itself as it had so much buildup.
Once cleaned up, the machine worked a treat and as I say the difference is massive.
I've a track day coming up in early Aug, so that will be the real test, but I thought £66 vs a new set of discs was at least worth a try .. and for the moment it seems to be working

Trust me your discs are warped mate, I had the same problem with numerous solutions to no avail.
Some discs CANNOT handle very hard driving and warp,(cheap crap metal), replaced discs with second hand brembos ones to test and no judder, a friend of mine had the same problem too with newish discs. Soon as he went to Cadwell his discs warped due to heat temps. And he has replaced discs and all fixed.
My actual opinion only
